I find that vexing, but it falls short of deserving an Ignore. You might find that some of the ones you deemed objectionable before have since changed or seem less outré than they once did. Of course if a bad-avatar poster was also an idiot or impolite or … , then no great loss. One can find it hard to say which straw broke the camel’s back when there are many. ---

That’s my recollection. Other posters also didn’t like infinite scrolling. I never understood why. ---

I’m thinking of changing my car avatar (recognize it?) to a new user name - Laminated Veneer Lumber. Then I can have purple LVL avatar and people will get us mixed up. ---

I doubt avatars have to be unique. Even if Discourse did try to enforce a uniqueness constraint, you can probably bit-twiddle one pixel to be one shade different and fool their filter. No need for you to to struggle with getting the Mods to approve a username change. Heck, maybe we could get a bunch of the regulars together, all get custom titles of “The Dirty Dozen” and get seemingly identical avatars, maybe a stylized dark brown DD on a light brown background symbolizing dirt. I can’t image how that could possibly backfire? Can you? 😁 [Mods: NOT a serious suggestion.] ---
