I’m going to play sport right after maths class. > [@Lucas\_Jackson](#): > > This guy has a YouTube channel [Thoughy2.](https://www.youtube.com/user/Thoughty2) > He pronounces all of his THs as Fs. and vice versa. I used to watch a channel where the creator had a very heavy Irish accent. All of his th’s were pronounced as t’s. ---

> [@wolfpup](#): > > It basically swept all the major awards, and I must say it was very well deserved – a really chilling, gripping film. _Still_ only the 3rd film ever to do so! Quite an impressive feat. ---

FYI, the other two (to win the “big five” of Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, and Best Original/Adapted Screenplay) were _It Happened One Night_ and _One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest._ ---

I used to work with a British guy who was contracted to work with my department. He became annoyed after I asked to repeat some phrases because I couldn’t understand him. Annoyed, he told me, “damn it, we invented the language” I said “You may invented the language, but we perfected it”. He was not amused. ---

> [@Chefguy](#): > > Leftenant, however, was a misrepresentation of the French word when it was adopted by the Brits in the 14th century. I still remember the time I tried to get a room on British submarine base as a U.S. Navy lieutenant (junior grade). The clerk asked me in a loud, nasal voice if I was a “_ **Leftenant or a sub-leftenant** _“? (Answer: my rank at the time was midway between those two Royal Navy ranks.) ---

> [@robby](#): > > I still remember the time I tried to get a room on British submarine base as a U.S. Navy lieutenant (junior grade). Hey, shipmate! I retired as a Navy Chief in the Seabees. I remember my guys jumping through hoops to provide transportation for a guy who called and said he was “Captain Smith”. Turned out he was Army and didn’t rate all the attention. ---
