Anyone else first hear about the original creation of _Silence! The Musical_ from an episode of _[Unscrewed with Martin Sargent](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unscrewed_with_Martin_Sargent)_ on the late great **TechTV**? (this was back before YouTube etc.) I found and downloaded them (they were free) the very next day! Still have them on my PC & iPhone… ---

> [@digs](#): > > Ah… thank you. I’ve been googling for days, and all that came up was this thread. Raspail’s substandard musical skills were more of a minor plot point in the film _Hannibal_. As I recall, in the novel _Silence of the Lambs_, Raspail had been one of Lecter’s patients (as well as being the boyfriend of Buffalo Bill) and Lecter kills him semi-impulsively during a consult, in part because he’s tired of Raspail’s whining and that he was a lousy musician. The film of _SotL_ muddies this a bit, suggesting Buffalo Bill had killed Raspail and Lecter “merely tucked [Raspail’s severed head] away as I found him.” [Previous page](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/silence-the-silence-of-the-lambs-musical/189646.md?page=1)
