I’m posting to this thread primarily to mention **TruePisces**. The Reverse Astrology site says that I am also a Pisces and give my lowest score to Capricorn. ``` January 22nd makes me a Capricorn/Aquarius cusp. ``` I have many objections to astrology, but this isn’t GD. So let me just ask, if the zodiac is accurate and correct, wouldn’t that mean that the Gregorian calendar is also correct and true and that the Hebrew, Chinese, Islamic and other calendars are not? **Betenoir** Most of the books I’ve read say that Chiron was the offspring of an Olympian or a Titan. Just as one of Poseidon’s sons was a fish from the waist down (IIRC Triton), Chiron was a horse. Though Chiron resembled a centaur, he was not actually related to them. ---

I don’t know about percentages, but I’m a Leo and about as un-Leo-like as a body can get. I’m extremely shy. Oddly enough, I share a birthday with Madonna, and talk about polar opposites! ---

Forgot to say that I’m female, and in the reverse astrology quiz, I came out a Scorpio, leading me to believe my brother must not be a ‘real’ Scorpio. He’ll probably turn out to be the Leo in the family! ---

I’m an Aries. Some of the “typicalness” of the sign really fits me, and some _really_ doesn’t. I am headstrong, impatient, love the chase of a challege, be it a who or a what (much more than the getting/resolution)and I do amuse people with often sardonic wit- so much so that supervisors at work want me on their projects because they know I’ll entertain them with dry, biting comments. I am **not** a natural leader. The only time I take charge is when others won’t; otherwise, if someone else wants to be the responsible leader, I’m content to follow. I’m also not all that adventurous either; I hate to travel! I’m extremely cautious! ---

Apparently my parents got it wrong too. I guess I’ll just have to demand to know why they’ve lied to me all these years. :rolleyes: Most descriptions of Libras that I’ve read seem to match my personality fairly well, but they tend to use pretty broad terms, and of course we always remember the hits and forget the misses. ---

I’ve never been a typical Leo in fact I’ve always considered myself the exact opposite. That was until I was given a book titled _The Secret Language of Birthdays_. It profiles each individual day of the year and surprisingly my birthday was spot on. Everyone who has checked their birthday from this book, all say the same thing and are amazed by its accuracy. I did the test from the link provided and scored 37 for Leo. Evidently I’m most likely a Virgo with a score of 59. ---

I also wonder if the authors have considered trying for the [JREF million dollar paranormal challenge](http://www.randi.org/research/index.html). After all, James Randi has said, “…a proper correlation between “sign” and personality would most certainly serve to win the JREF million-dollar prize…” and this would likely be accepted, at least by my guess. Testing would be easy. Just get some people together who have no prior knowlege of the book and give them a bunch of personality descriptions from the book, including their own, with no dates on them. Ask them which one’s the most accurate. If they pick the right ones, you’re rich! It’s a little more complicated than that, and it’s properly double-blind and randomized and supervised, but that’s basically it. Perhaps nice Mr. Randi would even let someone just using the book try out, hmm? Ought to be worth a shot if you really think this is something. It is a million dollars, after all… ---

I’m not into astrology at all so I had to look up Aquarius’ personality traits and came up with: \*\*Generous \*\* (not typically); **Tolerant** (Of what? Sometimes yes, sometimes no); **Friendly** (Not really, no); \*\*Independent \*\* (not at all); **Intellectual** (I’m above average but nothing special); \*\*Loyal \*\* (Undeniably); **Honest** (Basically); \*\*Original \*\* (Not in the least); **Inventive** (Not at all); **Contrary** (I’ve been told I am); **Unemotional and detached** (Gods, yes); **Perverse** (Not that I’m aware of); and **Unpredictable** (Doubtful) Breaking it down into percentages, that’s 22% accurate, 44% if you include the questionable attributes. I’d say no. It doesn’t fit me. ---

All sun signs fit everyone. It’s just down to interpretation. Also note that different astrological sources define the sun signs in different, conflicting and mutually exclusive ways. It’s as absurd as two musicians arguing how many sharps are in a given key signature. Some people look at what’s written for their own (supposed) star sign, notice some apparent accuracy, and think that this proves something. It doesn’t. The test is whether the other sun signs seem any less or any more accurate. Here’s an interesting test which shows the truth. Get 12 horoscopes from an expert source, only one of which is supposedly yours. Get a friend to strip the horoscopes of overt clues as to which sun sign they supposedly pertain to, and code them so you can find out later which was which. Then see if you can spot which fits you. If you try this over a sufficiently large sample size (e.g. everyone in your school class, or your office) you’ll see the results are no better than chance. Variation: get a professional astrologer to draw up horoscopes for you and a number of friends and produce readings for each of you. Get an independent person to take the readings and strip out any obvious clues as to which reading corresponds to which person, but to code them so you can match them up afterwards. You and your friends all get copies of all readings, and you all have to separately pick out which is your own. You may find that several of you all choose the same one, or that you all get the ‘wrong’ one. This is because astrology is junk thinking dressed up into junk science. Don’t take my word for it. Try these experiments and prove it for yourself. ---

Forgot to answer the original question: does my sign fit me? Let’s check… Aries fits me. Taurus fits me. Gemini fits me. Cancer fits me. Leo fits me not quite so well, actually. Fancy that. Virgo fits me. Libra doesn’t fit me at all. Huh. Scorpio fits me. Sagittarius fits me. Capricorn fits me. Aquarius fits me not so well. That’s three signs now. Pisces fits me. So apparently I’m born February 20 to July 22, August 23 to September 22, October 23 to January 20. That’s weird. ---

I’m Pisces, the test has me as a Libra by one point difference from my Piscean score.
