**Silverstreak Wonder** just screams “formerly banned poster back for some trolling” to me, so it’s hard to really take any of his posts seriously. He cares _way_ too much about the rules, has an obvious chip on his shoulder toward the mods, and just happens to take up adversarial positions on almost everything, presumably so he can take a principled stand about being mistreated for his unpopular views if he gets any warnings. He’d be a lot more interesting if he was a real nutjob, or at least smart enough to properly mimic crazy. ---

And he comes into threads he knows nothing about, and spouts off as if he does know something about it. He proposes a simple solution to a problem he knows next to nothing about. Like he did [for cosmology, in this thread](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=547686). He told us how to solve the [“missing mass” problem](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dark_matter). I found that more amusing than annoying, though that’s a schtick that gets old quickly. ---

It’s good you used small words in the pitting, otherwise you might be accused of using big words (like [solopsism!](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=547852)) in order to confuse the reader into simply agreeing with you. I think that’s been my favorite so far. ---

OK, guys, I will go ahead and give one response at least. I just saw this and what the heck? I quickly re-read the original thread since I am being told I was offending loved ones and family and all that. Totally false, go read that first post, it says “a friend of a friend”. This is no different than if it had said “I heard of a lady uptown that had…” So dispense with the trash talk I was upsetting some family. You know that is false. Second point, my answer was factual and it was in GQ then, I answered that I suspected they could be covering up a mistake, or just running up a bill on a hopeless case. Both of those CAN be facts and could be or not be what happened. A non-factual answer would be blaming it on moslems or faries or something like that, which was not done. What I said was perfectly in the realm of possibility. When any operation runs way long, it is quite possible some mistake was made, and that is a fact. I answer this pit at all only because a mod has been in it since the OP and it appears to be desired I respond despite the rules imposed in that first post. I have been beat over the head by mods that only the narrowest interpretation of that first post in a thread can be discussed, all else has to be taken elsewhere, and the OP here in the pit did not ask for a response from me, he told me to go away. This indicated he wants a discussion of me but without me. I guess that is OK in the pit and I am not going to call him any names, BUT, what I don’t get is why isn’t it the OP of the original thread wanting to pit me? Isn’t he the supposedly so offended person? A “friend of a friend” indicates he does not even know this person, and then some other poster even more removed wants to pit me for being crass or mean to someones family??? Can anyone see why that makes no sense to me? Anyway I stand by my statement and notice the mod in GQ, after telling me in that thread that mine was an unwanted opinion, not fact, then moves it to IMHO because all the answers were opinions. Yet that was fine for everyone else I guess??? Why not just move it and say nothing to me? Anyhow I say it was indeed factual and a real possibility, still is. Anyway unless Mr Excellent, the OP here wants a response to something else, I am done. He did not want me here anyway, but a mod in the thread did so I am giving a response. ---
