Does anyone remember this cartoon. I think it was in Captain Kangaroo, but I’m not certain. The opening lyrics to the cartoon went something like: Well you know my name is Simon, and the things I draw come true… Does anyone remember this, and better yet, anyone know where to get a copy of these toons? ---

All I can think of is Al Franken on SNL in a bath tub, with a bad English accent. “Hi. I’m Simon. Would you like to see my draaaaawrrrrrings?” ---

I remember this too, and I _loved_ it when I was a kid. I can still see the kid in my mind. Unfortunately I cant’t really tell you any more than that. ---

My slowly functioning brain has tossed up a few more bits of info. I think the cartoon was called “Simon in the Land of Chalk Drawings”. Everything he drew on his blackboard became real in Chalk Drawing Land. The numbers he used to practice addition and subtraction lived on the moon. ---

Simon! _Well you know my name is Simon and the things I draw come true And the pictures take me take me take me Anywhere I want to go…_ Sorry- I made up the last line because I can’t remember it, but I got the essence of it. It was a cartoon on Pinwheel. You know- that show with Plus and Minus. And Emily- \*You can tell it’s me Emily Cause I always wear red you see I have a little Hedgehog Humphrey…" That Emily song gives me a headache- because I associate it Pinwheel with grocery shopping with my mom before I was of school age and I used to get carsick. For some reason, the Simon song doesn’t have th esame effect. ---

Yep, The Land of Chalk Drawings definitely rings bells with me, but it wasn’t Kaptain Kangaroo. I can even visualize part of the opening scene, and get the tune in my head… but that’s it… ---

That was Mike Myers, not Al Franken on SNL. And yeah, the Simon thing was on some kids show. I remember it - I really liked it! ---

Though I think the third line is quoted correctly by **Turpentine** , not here. It appears that cartoon was shown on multiple children’s programs, because I watched it on Captain Kangaroo, without a doubt.
