# Simple Internet/Laptop question..

Is it possible to have wireless internet on Laptops? so that you could use it say, in a car or a train?

Yes. A few of my colleagues use their laptops (old IBM Thinkpad 570s) with normal Nokia mobiles. As long as both have the infra-red sensors up and running there’s no problem.

On the other hand - it’s prohibitively expensive to connect over a mobile (at least, here in the UK it is) and the connection speed is often only around 9,600kbps.

This is not a problem at all …

I ran my laptop off my cell phone for a while … I could get 19,200 off of it reliably.
