That’s okay. Regardless of the propriety of the suspension, it still serves a purpose. ---

It was for posting “NSFW ASCII art” in [this Pit thread](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=670695) It was started by an obvious troll who has already been banned, and the entire thread was basically a shit slinging free for all. On the one hand, yeah, the image was technically NSFW, but on the other hand, _ASCII art_?? I was a little surprised it got an official warning instead of just a mod note considering the circumstances and overall tone of that thread. If arranging characters of text in a NSFW manner is a warnable offense half the posts on this board are NSFW if you think about it. ---

ISTM he could have made the same joke without the one word. I would not have gone for a suspension over _that_ but he has had prior warnings for other issues and I have not been following him that closely. ---

Seems to me to be a simple mistake - reading the post out of context, it’s severely insulting. But I do not read it as intentionally so. As others have said, in context it is clearly a joke in which the poster is using the “negging” techniques the person he quoted from suggested. That said, I haven’t looked at the guy’s other warnings. ---

Apparently, there were three other warnings that preceded that one. No Idea what they were, but the mods usually don’t ban or suspend people without multiple warnings. ---

I had seen and read the post he quoted and noticed he/she was referring to it…however it seemed to me it clearly wasn’t being made in a light-hearted manner, especially with the word “slut” thrown in (which had nothing to do with what was posted and could be read as an insult). ---
