# Simpsons question: Why does Professor Frink say "hoyven glayven"?

Although I am a big Simpsons fan, I never understood why Professor Frink is always saying “by glayven!” and is obsessed with flubber. Is this a spoof of something I am not aware of?

I’ve always believed that it was a send up of Jerry Lewis’ Nutty Professor.

With the huyven and the glayven _HEEEEYYYYY_

Prof. Frink is mostly Jerry Lewis, but the flubber obsession is from Disney’s Absent Minded Professor.
