# Since no one else is doing it, I pit...me!

I’m glad my post made a small impression on you **Starving Artist**. I really think people like me–the mostly lurkers–would appreciate it if you’d back up your impressions with examples that actually back up your impressions (I think we all know I’m talking about the “liberal” judge taking away the baby). Liberals and conservatives are wrong sometimes–everybody is wrong sometimes. Us moderates like to take a little from each side and, to be honest **Starving Artist** , you don’t give me anything useful in political/social discussions (in other areas you are just fine and can be pretty funny).

If you just are here to blow off steam, that’s fine. From now on, please preface everything you say that is political in nature with a big ol’ IMO and tell everybody up front that you aren’t going to provide cites. Then we can marginalize those posts as they should be. If you have a real point to make, please bring a cite or don’t bother. You don’t have a good enough track record on these issues for me to take you seriously. And as **EFT** says, please start using the word “some” like it’s going out of style.

And, as others have said, I appreciate this thread, your willingness to review your posting and see what some of us are saying, and the fact that you actually noticed me! Thanks!

Thoughtful, sincere mea culpas are wonderful things, especially given the ‘take it outside’ ethos of The Pit. Props to **Starving Artist** for making apologies where the worst punches were thrown but…enough.  
When posters start hugging each other, mock-scuffling and crying, “I love you, man!” it’s time to call a halt.
