Married my ex-husband when we were both 19 years old—HOT body!! MMMMM-good!!! He had the PERFECT amount of hair, enough to be sexy, but not “bearish”. I’m with Anaamika about the Chest hair that trails all the way to…well YOU know where… I especially liked how soft the hair, further down the chest was. He was Italian, and a great romantic. Miss those times though I’m remarried. Older now, trying to get husband to shave his back—ugh! My one consoling thought is I’m sure my ex has all that too now and he’s gained lots of weight for his wife, the one he had the affair with, hehehe (I sound b\*tchy even to myself!).

I prefer guys with little chest hair or waxed hair. Shaving to make it shorter works too, although stubble isn’t good. I date toned guys and I think showing off those muscles makes them look more masculine. I hope the hairy chest never comes back into style.

I love a hairy man. The shaved thing is just creepy to me. I’ve known men naturally hairless, and while I liked them just fine, their chests were always startling to me.

I’ll take a wookiee any time over a hairless man. Fortunately, my husband is rather blessed in the hairy chest department.

I don’t give a shit as long as there is no back hair. GROSS.

Dated both and quite enjoyed both. Only downer is that most of the men that I dated who had chest hair lost the hair on their head as they got older, and that is a bummer. It’s like the hair exhausted itself.

I’m a fairly hairy-chested dude. I’m probably somewhere around the Pierce Brosnan level of hairiness. I’ve never shaved my chest, and I’ve never been asked to. I don’t think I would, either.

That said, dudes should do what makes them feel best about their bodies. I don’t care what that is at all. (I’ll say that I think it’s weird when a guy shaves his arms, though.)

I am myself a (hetero) man, and voted “Don’t Care” because well, I don’t. I think a man should do whatever he feels necessary to feel clean, comfortable and attractive. Just like having a beard: if a man can and want to grow it out to rabbinical lengths, ain’t nothing wrong with that, but if you shave twice a day to keep away the stubble, who’s to say he’s wrong?

I personally have a naturally hairless chest (generally true of East Asians I think), and the idea of suddenly having a hairy one, especially to a “shag carpet” degree, is pretty repellent. On the other hand, I’m friends with a few such guys myself, and would never suggest that they should shave themselves up a few rungs on the evolutionary ladder or something (except as a joke). They are who they are, and that should be enough for themselves or anyone else. Until That Woman (or Man, depending on orientation) expresses a preference on the matter, of course.

It’s enough damn work keeping my face shaved and my eyebrows, ear and nose hair in order.

Hell, I haven’t shaved my face in 35 years, I’m damn sure not gonna start shaving any other areas - but it that’s what trips your trigger, have at it

As a guy with a decent amount of chest hair, I’m keeping mine. It’s been part of my look since high school, so I can’t imagine shaving it off. I don’t think I would want to be with anyone who couldn’t accept me the way I am, and thank goodness I don’t have to worry about that. There are more important things in life to worry about than chest hair.

I feel like this as a girl, and I think that impacts my stated preferences to partners. If I can’t be arsed to shave my own armpits and legs more than 30% of the time (most of which is in the summer) then what the hell right do I have to ask my partner to do it to himself?

Honestly tho - I don’t mind whatever is natural, but shaving the chest area does seem weird to me. If it’s waxed or depiliated often enough that I don’t notice, then ok fine, but stubble is right weird. Just rock your own bad self with whatever hair decided to come to the party.

Given that just about every last inch of me’s covered in hair, it’d be pretty hypocritical of me to expect other guys to shave. I haven’t had any complaints, except for the shedding… oh, lord, the shedding…

I’m glad Ms. P doesn’t mind it. It’s not thick, but it’s on chest, shoulders, and back.

Given that you’ve somehow unearthed a thread that is 6 years old, I have to wonder if you’re taking your own advice.
