There’s a recent Heineken commercial in which a skinny bearded guy shows up at a party in some mansion and greets everyone there like long-lost friends. At the end he dons a white dinner jacket and gets up on stage with a blonde singer and her band, as they do some sort of bouncy pop song. So, if I may, who’s the singer and what’s the name of the tune? ---

I had the same question. First time I heard it, I thought it was the most annoying song I’d ever heard. Second time I heard it, I had to admit it wasn’t that bad. Third time, I began to find it kind of catchy. Fourth time, I hit Google to find out who it was. The band is [The Asteroids Galaxy Tour](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Asteroids_Galaxy_Tour); the song is called The Golden Age. ---

Oddly enough, I had the very same question on my mind. However, I have this vacuous-catchy-vacuous opinion curve with such things, and I’m definitely in phase 3 now. ---

I’ve sworn off Heineken for life because of it (not a difficult thing to do). ---

While no beer ad has ever convinced me to drink the brand, I do think the ad is clever and the tune catchy. ---

I think the tune is kind of neat, but I hate her voice. Good God, it’s like a cheese-grater on my eardrum. ---

It got so stuck in my head that I had to go out and buy it on iTunes. Also, the lyrics to the theme song from _Fresh Prince of Belair_ fit the tune perfectly at certain points. Try it, you’ll see 🙂 ---
