Here she is in 1997, age 50, doing Carpet of the Sun. The comments indicate that as of about three months ago, she’s still performing and still hitting the high notes. That puts her at 63 or so.
Sharon Jones (of Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings) is now past 50 and she absolutely tore it up when I saw her last month. Not only with her voice, but her non-stop high energy dancing puts the younger folks to shame. You really shouldn’t miss an opportunity to see this band live if they’re ever in your area.
Ditto. Sharon can deliver - and she has the best backing band in the business, hands down. I’ll fight anyone who says otherwise.
