Single people, how do you eat?

I like eggs once in a while and have eaten them after they have been in the fridge for months. I put them in a big bowl of water, if they float they are bad if they sink they are OK. Is that reliable? I read that somewhere and it has worked so far, based on the fact that I am still alive but maybe that’s just luck.

Look for bags of frozen boneless chicken tenderloins. They are much smaller than a spilt boneless chicken breast and perfect for a couple wraps.

I saw some mention of eggs, they’re great for their versatility. Hardboil some and make egg salad, or don’t even bother with the salad. Scrambled or fried with some toast is good and my favorite, a breakfast sandwich with bacon (which freezes well) on toast, a bagel, English muffin, or croissant, yum! Add some cheese and anything else that sounds good.

Thank you Quartz ! Yes, we divorced this summer. On the plus side, it was a very amicable, friendly and - if that word can apply - an easy divorce. Me, ex and kid are happy enough with the new housing and co-parenting situation, and once everyone has settled in, I think it will get even better.

So the jury is out yet on whether ayahuasca has improved my marriage. In a strange way, it may have.

Talk to a nutritionist. Each person has different nutritional needs. Eating healthy is a way of life but let a professional take on that burden of what to eat for you so you will only purchase what is good for you to eat and food waste will not be an issue because your portion sizes are under control. Good luck!!

Non-cooker here. I buy a lot of deli food, and the small yogurt cups commonly serve as breakfasts. (I gave up cereal and TV dinners some years ago on principle.) I used to eat a lot of junkfood, but now I go through a lot of grapes, strawberries, and jerky/beef sticks. I eat out infrequently, when I have a friend to go with and keep me company.

My diet is lacking in variety and is kind of expensive. But again, non-cooker, so yeah.
ETA: Oh yeah - I also go food shopping like four times a week, buying only what I’ll need for the next day or two, because nothing I buy keeps. Well, except yogurt. That has a few weeks in it. But still - many frequent short shopping trips.

As an aside, because I am thin people often ask me what I eat. I tell them I have a very unique diet: When I get hungry, I eat what I feel like eating. And I rarely eat again until I get hungry again.

One of the joys of single life is eating what you want when you want it: A pint of Ben & Jerry’s for breakfast or a pumpkin latte and oatmeal cookies for supper. So be it.
