I’m going to Panama for vacation next month, and I scheduled an extra day in Miami Beach beforehand (otherwise I would have had only a 51-minute layover between flights). I plan on going to the beach in the daytime if the weather is nice, but what else would you recommend for a solo traveler in Miami? Any restaurants or bars that are good for solo travelers? I’m not certain where I will be staying, and I don’t plan on renting a car. I’m 38 and male. I’ve been to Miami a couple of times before, but only for one or two nights each time, and none since 2006. ---

I’m an hour north of Miami, and almost never head down that way…so I’ll be of limited help here. But let me ask a few questions…what do you like in a restaurant/bar? Are you looking for a place to chill out for a few hours with a beer? Dance party? Interesting crowd for people watching? Do you expect to be staying somewhere near the airport? Or are you open to being a little further away (hopefully with a hotel shuttle available) to be closer to the South Beach scene? ---

Just enjoy the beach scene and walk up and down South Beach. Go to Wish Restaurant if you can afford high-end prices. ---

Like \*\*Dale Sams \*\*said. Get a room somewhere in the vicinity of Ocean Drive along South Beach. You can spend your whole night strolling from bar to bar, and you’re sure to find a place or two that’s to your tastes. Or tell a bartender or hotel clerk what you like, and they’ll recommend a spot for you. Everything is walkable. ---

I’m definitely planning on stating at a hotel near the beach, but I haven’t decided where exactly yet. Someplace just to chill in the evening is what I’m thinking of.
