The song titled only _Revolution_ is the rocking one. It had the same title on the 1968 Apple single (the B side of _Hey Jude_) as it did on the _Hey Jude_ album and the _Beatles 1967-1970_ album. The song titled _Revolution 1_ is just a bluesy, acoustic version of _Revolution_ that appeared on _The Beatles_ (the White Album). And _Revolution 9_ is the sound collage that is also on _The Beatles_. ---

Revolution #9, no contest. Firstly, it ruins the good name of a actually good song. Secondly, did it feature any singing done by the beatles? I sure couldn’t tell, due to having to listen to about 3 or 4 minutes of some creepy voice talking over a guitar riff before giving up on it Experimental does not equal good. ---

Huh, I love “Got to Get You Into My Life.” “The Word,” on the other hand, sounds like the theme song to a cult. (“Say the word and be like me!”) ---

You mean I’m the _only one_ who hates “I Want You (She’s so Heavy)” from _Abbey Road_?!!! Tell me it isn’t true! I’d rather listen to “Revolution #9” ten times than have to listen to that crappy Abbey Road track. ---

Revolution #9 is counted amongst the various incarnations of “Revolution” because it actually does have some tracks from the original song buried deep within its murky depths. A good place to hear it is near the end where Lennon is screaming a long drawn out “RRRRIIIGGGHHHTTT”. Hope this clears up the mystery. Chris W PS FWIW their worst cover is indeed “Mr. Moonlight”. For their worst original song I’d have to go with “Long,Long,Long” from the White Album. I recently made up a disc that had their entire catalogue in MP3 format. After hitting Random play I was in Beatle bliss for 10+ hrs. That whole time Long was the only track I had to skip over. ---

Huh. I like most of the Beatles song, there is no one true stinker that everyone can agree on, like Led Zeppelin’s “The Crunge.” I’d personally cast an unpopular vote for “Hey Jude” just because all of those na-na-na-nas get on my nerves. But most of Let it Be is sub-par, IMHO. Most of the songs don’t flow as well as the other Beatles songs – while I like “Two of Us” and “I Me Mine,” the choruses seem tacked on. Most of the rest of the album, especially “Dig a Pony” and “Across the Universe” seem rough and unmastered. I am no Fiona Apple fan, but what she does with “Across the Universe” demonstrates what could have been done with that song. And of course “The Long and Winding Road” is typical Paul oversentimentalism that sounds like it was tailored for Muzak. That and the second disc of the White Album, which can be somewhat excused as a concept album/experimental art/parody of modern music. ---

It just doesn’t suck as much as some other songs they did. It sounds like they were satirizing their own music, although I suspect they intended it as satire of _other_ people’s music. ---

It’s not unexpected, but I still feel a bit sad that my favourite Beatles song, heck, one of my favourite songs of all time is selected by many as their worst. I am talking about She’s leaving home. Of the famous songs, my vote for worst goes to Yellow submarine. ---

The entire Yellow Submarine ALBUM should be recalled and destroyed… Especially the second half. OK, I know it’s not strictly Beatles, but honestly! God it’s terrible. Even on drugs. ---

“Devil in Her Heart.” Dreadful, DREADFUL lyric that starts off with a halfhearted rhyme scheme and gives up halfway. Deserves special mention for this awful turn of phrase: She’s got the devil in her heart. No, no, no, this I can’t believe. She’s gonna tear your heart apart. No, no, nay, will she deceive. (Gag.) ---
