Sink the Bismarck Song an Oddity?

Famously, he tore out the dedication of the Eroica symphony to Napoleon when he declared himself Emperor, and was in Vienna when it was bombarded and occupied by the French. One of Napoleon’s brothers tried unsuccessfully to get Beethoven to his court in one of the puppet kingdoms. I doubt if B. was totally indifferent.

On a more downmarket tack, how about these for celebrating another country’s anything:

Yes - it’s a stretch.

The Guardsmen: “Snoopy’s Christmas”

The Red Baron gallantly refrains from shooting down Snoopy and even wishes him a Merry Christmas.

I don’t see that it makes much difference that the final sinking was directly caused by scuttling. Nobody scuttles a perfectly good warship: They only did so because they were getting pounded so badly that it was their only option. Hitting an enemy warship so hard that they’re forced to scuttle it is still a win.

Not quite the same, but Canadian Robbie Robertson wrote “The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down”.

Yeah, even if the British had taken pity and sailed away and even if she’d managed to limp into Brest, I doubt she’d have been deemed economically repairable – she was pretty well pounded to scrap.

Bismarck is available in World or Warships and one of the camo skins you could earn is “From the bottom of the ocean.” It’s not pretty.

Bismarck camo - Album on Imgur – all of them

“Roads to Moscow” by Al Stewart may qualify, although the heroic soldier winds up in a gulag at the end of the war, so maybe not.
