_Australians_ can and do still receive them, but _Australia_ doesn’t use them, in that the federal and state governments no longer fax their lists to London. Since 1990 or so, Australians who receive British honours have generally been resident in the UK and doing works deemed worthy by the relevant British authorities. Australia is not involved.
