It’s a very mild October. Leaves are just starting to change, and it’s been 20 C most of the day. Sitting on the front steps with what may be the last G&T of the summer; weather could change suddenly. Tanqueray No. 10, FeverTree tonic (elderflower version), and limes. Some sort of political demonstration seems to have been happening down the street in the park; people are walking back, chatting and carrying signs. Off to make chili soon. ---

Here in California it’s unseasonably hot. It was nearly 100 F in the Sacramento area today. I think I’ll be drinking G&Ts for a few more weeks yet. ---

Tanq #10? And here I thought you were a man of discerning tastes. Color me mightily confused. I spent the weekend in Las Vegas where the daily high was 102F / 39C and the locals were glad of the respite from the real heat. But even so it was unseasonably warm for there then. Very very pleasant sipping a cocktail by a pool.
