It just occurred to me that this is how Nate and Brenda got together-- they were a fling that got serious because Nate Sr. died and Brenda happened to be there when Nate got the news. Hmmm, circular… let’s hope Claire and Ted are less screwed up.

It’s Nate, though. When I read this thread, I hadn’t watched the show for years and I could still picture this without a problem. (I did see most of this week’s episode earlier tonight.) Nate always had that perpetual adolescent thing going on. Actually, the whole thing reminded me of my grandfather’s funeral, which was in early May 1994, a couple of weeks after Cobain killed himself. I got to pick the music on the way over to the service, so my dad and I listened to Nevermind.

Well there will definetly be some interesting political discussions in the relationship ;).
