I perceive more annoying-but-still-within-the-rules behavior (i.e. wholly permissible trolling) from you than from the average poster. Can you see why I would perceive things that way? People expressed empathy and proposed solutions and were attacked, virgin shamed, attacked based on age, sex/gender, race. Attacks that were in no way justifiable but were based on knowingly misrepresenting the argument. Many strawmen died in this thread. Chimera’s point of view was distorted so he could be attacked. But, hey, it generates snark content so mission accomplished. ---

Thanks for giving me the opportunity to clarify. Some people here bully for sport. But that’s not all that’s going on here. I noted 2 days and about 100 posts ago in a reply to **expectopatronum** that some people seem genuinely squicked by Skald threads. I’ll add here that not all of those perceiving skeevy stuff are female as it happens. (While at the same time some female posters perceive bullying of an IMHO content provider in this thread as well.) Anyway, this isn’t a big admission. My take is close to LHoD’s - I don’t see explicit content from Skald and I trust he’s fully capable of writing explicit stuff. _Law and Order_ is far more lurid. But I’m willing to make allowances for those with different sensibilities than my own. I’d just like them to say explicitly what sort of board changes they want. If any. It’s ok if they just want to vent or express their concerns. ## While I’m here, I’d like to backpeddle a little. Some of Morgenstern’s content is decent. See the thread in ATMB on the clone board. Heck, the point about acknowledging the concerns of others in this thread was good as well. Finally Morgenstern: I don’t think Octo is trolling. I think he’s getting “Carried away”: he perceives some shit-stirring (as I do) and assumes it’s all shit-stirring (which I don’t, and said as much pages ago.) Hey, you guys wouldn’t pick on him if he was invariably sober and clear headed. ---

To be honest and speaking generally, I internally dismiss quite a bit on this message board. But when say three agree, I pause a little. And we are way over 3 by now. That said, I don’t entirely understand your perspective, or rather it’s a matter of guesswork on my part. Because as LHoD noted this shit is all over the place and doesn’t garner objection. Romance novels, mystery novels, TV shows. Horror. I’ve composed a parody of a Skald hypothetical in my head, but frankly I have a bit of a backlog of comments I’d like to make. Spoiler! Skald’s tone (I’m guessing) is ok in isolation. But maybe it has a cumulative effect in thread after thread that I’m missing. Then again, someone said they don’t like reading a thread and coming across an allusion to sexual assault or other traumatic stuff. That’s legit IMHO, as is a call for a content advisory. But the latter are difficult to design without appearing ridiculous. Praise the Buddha for pseudo-anonymity. Others say that Skald _depicts_ violence against women in his thread. But he doesn’t in any sort of detail. That’s just libel. ---
