# Skiing near Grenoble in August

In late August I’ll be in Grenoble, France, which is located on the eastern edge of the Alps. What is the nearest location where there’s enough snow for skiing at that time of year? (Snow, not glaciers)

Your choice is glacier, glacier or glacier. The alps aren’t high enough to have non-glacier skiing during the height of summer, and August is one of the hottest months.

The best nearby choice would be Les Deux Alpes, about 50 miles away.

Yeah, I suspected the only possibility would be a glacier. But it’d still be a fun day-trip.
