Hm. My fiance’s kung fu instructor has a shaved head and wears fatigues and army boots. I’d never considered the possibility that he might look like a skinhead. Next time I see him I’ll ask him why he dresses that way when he could be mistaken for one. Not nastily: I’m just curious. ---

Agreed, and I should also qualify my statement about working class values. Individuals in all classes exhibit racist or chauvinistic attitudes. In this instance, skinheads (who were not necessarily lower class) just exacerbated those attiudes by adopting a viewpoint that encouraged hyper-masculinity and aggression.
