Fresh over from a thread and wanted to say this. 1.) Lying (useing sugar coated words) to protect someone’s feelings is a crock of shit…the only feelings you are trying to protect are yours. 2.) Relize that no matter what you say or do you are fucking over some body. 3.) Point #2 is OK as long as you don’t use point #1 to make the fucked feel better. 4.) If you find yourself bothered by peoples actions and do nothing to honestly comunicate that then you are a selfish asshole that has no chance understanding. Editorial: Straight Dope to means just that. It’s ok to use the word blind with people who can’t see. A fat person knows they are fat and your use of that word carries no weight with them. All this PC has seeped into this Board. I am a new member and think I am the strightest person in the room. Please point me to examples that I might humble myself. Note: I know how to use the big words that some self rightous posters here use, just can’t spell that well so I try to KISS. Excuse the poor spelling I hope my point has come through. Do you happen to have a link to the thread that raised such ire? An alternative viewpoint to your point #1, of course, is that using the most harsh words available in order to _appear_ “honest” is simply a way to disguise one’s brutality behind a veneer of “telling the truth.” (I have no idea that you are guilty of this sort of speech, but it should be noted that there are other views regarding “being honest.”) I have no idea what you mean by point #2. _Every_ act or speech directed at another person is simply an act of “fucking them over”? Does this apply to feeding my children or consoling them when they are bruised? I think you might need to clarify your thoughts, here. (As noted, a link would be helpful.) ---

Well golly gee **tramtwo** , and here I thought I was enlightened to judge a man by the content of his character and not his appearance. I see now that I was wrong. How can I thank you for enlightening me?!?!?! I will from this day forward never have to take anyone who is overweight, unattractive, physically disabled or of another race seriously! I can dismiss them completely because they may not fit YOUR ideal of beauty. Oh damn, that means I have just lost most of my friends. It’s too bad too, because I found most of them quite attractive. But if you say so…they’re outta here!! Or are you trying to say that I should TELL them? Perhaps you’re just trying to help them out a bit by pointing out their flaws? GOOD LORD MAN!!! You may just have something there! I am SURE most overweight people don’t mind be called “fat”. I’m sure a blind mind would actually appreciate you letting him know he’s blind. and I only speculate, his beef was with the sort of PC speech that many of us find a bit ludicrous, ie. not “handicapped”, “differently abled”, not “fat”, “weight challenged”…perhaps he was referring to that sort of thing. In which case, he expressed himself poorly and should try again. stoid ---

You see you see. When there is a post that is direct no one gets it. There is a cancer here. Aunt want to take your words out of my mouth? 1. If you think someone is something say it, tell them or ignor them, anything else only serves to stoke your own ego and does not help that person. 2. You will fuck people no matter what you do. Thgere will always be those that disagree with your actions (maybe the baby needs to cry and you develope a dependicy?) 3. Just because people may disagree does not mean that you should stop or lie. I will also just add that this thread including my post is an example of what I see as the cancer here. Fucking whining about the way people whine. Now I have become what I hate so much. FUCK! If I was a fat guy it would be ok. Call tram an asshole stupid ect ect just don’t use the word fat. :rolleyes: You all are the stupid ones not I. ---

Jesus christ you have no sense of language or reality. Yes judging goes on here. Yes there are complaints about how that judgement is done. That is part of judgement. If I say that I judge people on how well they dance the funky chicken I’m going to get some strange looks and some posters to point out that it is a flat out moronic method of judging someone’s intellectual capacity. As to your specific points. 1. Not all people sugar coat to protect their own feelings. Would you rather me tell you that your mother died tastefully or by saying, “Everyone who still has a mother step forward. Not so fast tramtwo.” Regardless I haven’t noticed much sugar coating on the message boards. 2. So what? If everyone agreed no one would bother posting to SDMB. Also fucking someone over is different than having them not agree with you. 3. You really don’t read many posts do you? 4. What a brilliant statement. I’m so glad that you arrived to enlighten us.
