Howdy. I have been AWOL. I’m back. Busy, busy time and short of help…I have a packet of eight for a full time spot and one of them is the girl that already works here so filling it with her won’t help me manpower wise. My least favorite duty. Happy new week. No sunrises for me lately. ---

Well, since I usually eat only two meals a day (one around 10-11am and the other around 6pm), I guess it’s my ‘evening’ meal. I swept part of the covered part of the deck, and put out the bird seed. I thought I heard a hummingbird, so I’ll have to hang up the feeder. One of the sparrows (that’s what I’m calling them – I don’t actually know what they are) seems to have an injured right leg. It was standing on one leg yesterday, and I thought it was just cold. Today, I wonder if it’s actually injured. It’s eating, anyway. The birds with the all-black heads are apparently juncos. The ones with the black-and-white heads are black-capped chickadees. ---

We’re still just getting rain, tho I saw a threat of snow for Saturday. Normally that wouldn’t concern me, but daughter, Roxy, and I are supposed to meet my mom, sister, niece, and grandnephew for lunch on Sat in Bowie (which is about halfway between where we each live.) Anyway, here’s hoping the forecast is wrong. It can snow on Sunday, but not Sat, please… OK, back to work. Tim gave me a booger of a drawing to do. ---

Grew up in Maryland, parents from (for generations) Baltimore: Supper was the evening meal and lunch the midday meal. Dinner (when applicable) was eaten in the early afternoon and a little more extravagent than a mere supper - think Christmas or Thanksgivng Dinner. Also on Sundays we had a ‘dinner’, 1300 hrs ish with lighter fare around 1800hrs (although we still called that meal supper). As to sunrises: On weekdays I’m up at 0600 and at work by 0700, but can see the sunrise from work. So the only weekdays I DON’T see the sunrise are from early May to late July. Weekends are a crapshoot. ---

I think all we ever called it while growing up was supper. And where i am from dinner can be a midday meal. Old country folk. ---
