Instead of sleeping on a concrete block, try using a **pillow.** And if you cut out eating those Welsh Rarebits before bedtime, you won’t thrash around so much at night. ---

Pardon my ignorance, but I thought one who wears contacts is not supposed to sleep with them in. I’ve heard nightmare stories over the years about contact wearers falling asleep with them in place and awaking to find them lodged behind the eyeball, or somewhere awkward where they had to go and have a doctor dig them out. Plus more stories about how wearing contacts constantly can erode the cornea unless one takes them out and cleans them daily. ---

Oh, I don’t know about that anymore. Contacts have come a long ways over the past decade or so. They have disposable contacts now that are made to wear for a week and then throw away. My problem has always been getting enough oxygen with contacts. I wear extended wear lenses as daily wear, because of the high prescription I need. I can’t sleep with them in at all, they dry out and try to stick to my eyes. ---

My eye doc never said anything about any of that. The only warning I got was that I needed to take them out weekly to let my eyes “breathe”. The only problem I have with wearing contacts all night is that my eyes are dry in the morning. A few drops of saline fixes that up quick. Chrisbar ---

However, I was remiss in not saying that I don’t sleep in them in, although there are brands out there that allow this. To the best of my knowledge, corneal erosion isn’t the issue, rather, a lack of ambient oxygen to the cornea. While the need for disinfection of the lenses is self explanatory, cleaning is primarily to remove protein deposits, which can inhibit their functioning properly, and I think could shorten their life. ---

Please. I can’t even wear underwear to bed, much less GLASSES. I’m mildly nearsighted, so I’m not blind without the glasses. But I went to camp with a girl who DID sleep with them on, much to my horror. I also went to high school with a girl who slept with her contacts in, because she HATED putting them in and taking them out. She’d leave them in for a week at a time. I, on the otherhand, had my weekly dispoable contacts, which I diligently cleaned and took care of, only to have them cause an astigmatism anyway. Feh. ---

A friend of mine fell asleep with hers in and had to go to the hospital to have them removed. So no, it’s not an UL. ---

I know this is weird but honestly this pretty awesome, I mean what was the internet like back then, when did the internet actually become as big as it is now, people used to Google if it’s ok to sleep with glasses on in 2000?? Oh i remember emoji’s were in text, used them for a short time. I only started using the internet in like 2009 and I find it interesting how far the internet/technology have come. From playing pinball and using msn and yahoo messenger to where we are now. ---
