Slug’s toons do leave varying amounts to the imagination, don’t they, just like Peter Pan and the Wizard of Oz.
_I could tell you things about Peter Pan
And the Wizard of Oz!
(There’s a dirty old man!)
-- Tom Lehrer_
Just add Slug to that list.

In [this thread](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=24178), one of his _less ambiguous_ cartoons is discussed (including link to the picture; NSFW). It appears that Slug is sometimes called upon to provide an alternate picture that newspaper editors can run instead if they don’t appreciate the humor.

[Here’s another thread](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?threadid=24012) in which another user makes the same observation. At Post #4, Da Boss Hisself notes:

> [@What's with Slug's pictures?](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/whats-with-slugs-pictures/19032/4):

> I dunno about last week, but editors had their choice of Slug cartoons this week, a PG version and an R version. Your paper’s editor obviously wasn’t ready for the R version, whereas online we don’t give a damn.

Here, we have [The Slug Signorino FAQ](http://www.straightdope.com/pages/faq/slug), with all the information you’re allowed to know about Slug.

[Here, we have](http://clclt.com/charlotte/ImageArchives?oid=2430270&by=2151736) a compendium of Slug Art, with a lede pic apparently showing a self-portrait of Slug himself at work.
