And if you are not inside a fight cage, but out on the real world, which I presume is of more interest to the OP, then you have a whole world of option to use against the dog. Any dog you can conceivably pick up, can be bashed against the edge of a sidewalk, a lamp post or anything else. The human can pick up stuff from the ground, remove his shirt to cover the dog’s face, etc. We didn’t survive all these years with these puny bodies for nothing. We can adapt and make the best of our environment. The dog will land a couple of good bites in the process, but I am putting my money on a well motivated human.
You may have heard it from the Hal Roach routine, in which case they were both Irish. Also, in that case the punch line is “He was lodged in his throat.”
