How much nakedness was there? So much! I counted several partially-nude scenes, including 2 with “abby” (bring her back!), 1 with Lois, several in the boys’ locker room, and… I could swear I remember one with Lana, but that could be my overactive imagination. A wag with whom I watch the show decided that “WB” stands for “We’re Bare.” I think it stands for “Wanton Boobage,” because even when the starlets are covered up, those cameramen are being naughty. Not that I’m complaining – the nudity has added a _frisson_ of sexiness to a show that was already a guilty pleasure for me. I think all of the shows in which they used to have a truck or tractor explode, they’ve replaced the effects shot with a sex scene. The Smallville sherriff is plumb consternated about the whole thing.

All of that said, can I get a few opinions here?
So Lois Lane failed high school in Metropolis, hm?

And a famous college football player from Metropolis doesn’t ring a bell with Lex Luthor except that Lex knows of his dad’s law practice?

And Clark, who has promised not to cheat or use his powers playing football, has _already_ thrown a pass that knocked over one of his teammates?
The little reality checks don’t bug me, although I would appreciate it if they didn’t decide to wrap up all the loose ends _during_ the last commercial (instead of just afterward). We come back from the break and Lana’s fine again, nobody bothered to ask her what she thought about Abby kissing her, and all the right bad people end up in jail… it’s all a little too clean.

Oh, and the whole bit right before the credits where Lois and Clark have a “moment” and Chloe looks wistful and bitter – why doesn’t that girl take what’s CLEARLY hers?

The “nakedness” obviously dulled all my senses because of the three points you mentioned in your first spoilers box, I forgot ALL three.

I wonder what the episode writer was thinking …

How can I use Lana and Lois in some bondage imagery, blindfolding, a girl-on-girl kiss, and a nearly naked Lois ALL into ONE episode; PLUS getting Clark in a wet t-shirt?

But maybe Chloe gets even next week because they teased us with …

showing in next week’s preview, Chloe in a cheerleading outfit; joining the team as a result of folks drinking something in the water that seemingly makes them sex-crazed

Hummina, hummina, hummina! I’m glad someone else started this thread, because my head exploded.

Lois looked like her chest was going to burst out of that contraction. I was rooting against the contraption. Abby: Yowza! Can someone with it on TiVo confirm for me that that was a nipple poking out when she ran out of the shower? Even if it was a shadow, I’ll take it.

Can’t wait for next week!

But do you also get to count nudity in commercial that air for _other_ shows during **Smallville**? (See: **Hill, One Tree** I think the corporate mandate for all WB shows this year was:

MORE SKIN!!!

I’m waiting for sweeps, when the good citizenry of our favorite Kansas village will be afflicted with a plague of kryptomoths that can completely devour clothing at an almost instantaneous rate!

Much skin, indeed. I have to say that I’d rather have had Chloe and Lois in the tank than Clark, but I guess there are those who disagree.

Alison Mack is a great young actress, just for the volumes she could put into her glance when she saw those two smiling at one another.

It was kind of cool when Lois kicked the mad plastic surgeon in the head twice while Clark was disabled by Kryptonite vapors.

I was surprised that Clark stayed on the team. I really expected to have something happen right off that would make him back away, like it did when he tried to join in seaon 1. Even so, he won’t stay there too long–it just doesn’t fit the image.

How long before Jason gets nailed for dating a student? Remember episode 1-- In Smallville, you can literally be crucified for looking inappropriately at Lana Lang. What happens if you actually touch her when you shouldn’t? Lex has obviously already figured it out. Clark, Lois and Chloe will soon know. It would be a stretch for them to keep the secret from the rest of the school and the town for more than a few weeks.

Lois will find out from Lex, and print an exposé in _the Torch_. Clark will get pissed because it’s his coach, and then he’ll be all conflicted-drama-boy. Chloe will read something into Clark’s concern for Lana that isn’t there, or be too embarrassed to say anything because of something compromising she does next week (oh please oh please oh please). And speaking of which, next week the coach and Lana are going to get caught, but they’ll be able to blame it on the Kryptonade. You heard it here first, but it’s just idle speculation.

Oh, and why didn’t they keep Clark around during Chloe’s absence? He could have carried _the Torch_ for her. 😛

…so Lionel’s in Federal Prison, right? Do we know yet who tried to poison Lex?

Or for that matter, does anyone have any ideas about Who shanked Lionel in the shower, and why? I kinda doubt anyone hired by Lex would fail to make sure it was a mortal wound, even though Lionel seems to think it was Lex was behind it.

Maybe next week there’ll be a scene where Chloe and Lex talk about it…in the shower.

Please, please.

I’ve been keeping track of the amount of people knocked unconcious this season (6 in 2 episodes. I haven’t seen this week yet.), but I don’t have a blog for it.

Getting knocked unconscious. It’s the new “exploding red vehicle”.

I gotta say I was pretty underwhelmed by the whole affair.

Haven’t we had enough of the dumb monster-of-the-week episodes? The story and pacing seemed incredibly dull, and nothing seemed to happen for the entire hour.

And I hate Lois.

I don’t know why, I just can’t stand her. She’s written to be uppity and obnoxious, but the ugly wench who plays her can’t pull it off. I hope they dispatch her quickly. Of course, that won’t happen since she’s supposed to live. She’s eating up Chloe’s screen time.

Mmmmmmmmm…Chloe.

And Clark should stop with his incessant whining. You’re a senior in high school, dammit! Grow up already.

I hated her at first too, but she grew on me. She’s an acquired taste in terms of character and appearance. Fear not, she hasn’t made it to the opening credits yet and she’s only supposed to be there for one semester.

Am I the only one who detests Chloe? I’d been quietly hoping for her demise since the first season and was DELIGHTED at what appeared to be her fiery end last season.

Obnoxiously nosy and hyper-sensitive = Chloe.

My husband likes her, though. Also, that last look from Chloe at Clark and Lois on last week’s episode was marvelously heart-wrenching.

Ya’ know, I just started watching _Smallville_. It’s a lame show, really. And, maybe I’m just unobservant as hell, but I think I could count the _Smallville_threads I’ve seen prior to this season on one hand and still have fingers left to scratch my ass with.

It hit me last week.

_Angel_ was cancelled last season. We are trying to fill that void that was left in our Wednesday nights.

Angel always did better with the whole dark moody angst thing. I want to know who ordered the failed hit on Lionel. I agree if it was Lex, it would have been done right - but then Lex isn’t evil yet. I think it is one of Lionel’s many enemies from the past. Cloe is entirely too nosy for her own good. If anyone pried into my personal life like that, she would no longer be a friend of mine.

The one thing I really liked about last week’s episode was the fact that for a few brief moments, Clark was a teenager. Laughing hysterically when he found out Lois flunked, taunting her into dunking him at the pep rally–classic examples of teenhood. Something we really haven’t seen in Clark, _ever_.

But for the most part, I thought the episode was relatively banal. I’m happy Chloe’s back, but enough with the unrequited crap. Played out in season two.

And, for the love of all that’s holy, _get Lois the hell out of there_. Go to Smallville, find Chloe, disappear from Clark’s life until the _Daily Planet_ days. I can handle bending of the mythology. I’m adaptable. I even enjoyed the little love/hate thing they had going (especially Clark saying a couple weeks ago that he actually couldn’t stand her), but end a good thing while it’s still good, and let her finish high school somewhere else.

Hmm…

Hot male hero with superpowers, prone to bouts of self-pity that ultimately prove dangerous to his friends? _Check_

…Destined to love a heroine who’s only a guest star and likes kicking things? _Check_

…Who has a good-hearted and supportive father? _What, are you kidding? We’re comparing a **Joss Whedon** show here, folks. Strike_

…And occasionally turns evil, for ratings purposes? _Check_

Even hotter villian who is not really evil, but corrupted by the evil corporation around him? _Check_

Brainy, but hot, female sidekick? _Check_

…Who’s got a crush on the hero? _Check_

…And is killed off, but brought back right away? _Check_

Vapid, but hot, female sidekick? _Check_

…Mysteriously given superpowers when the show runs out of plotlines for her? _Check_

…One of which was the shoehorned romance between her and lead, despite a near-total lack of chemistry? _Check_

Token black sidekick, tragically underused and given the worst plotlines since Emmett on _Queer as Folk_? _Check_

…Monster of the Week A-Plots, supplemented occasionally by larger story that gets more convoluted each year, making it more and more obvious that the writers don’t really know where it’s going either, and are just making it up as they go? _Check-plus, with a shout-out to The X-Files_.

By George, I think you’re on to something!

My pet theory is that WB wanted to capitalize on the success of the first _Spiderman_ movie, but didn’t have a template for ripping it off as a drama, so they used Buffy and Angel.
