Alas, my fiancee would be fine with a clothing optional honeymoon, but I figure, if I’m in New York, I’m going to get out and see it!
Come on, you people are novices. What you do is you wear all of your clothing, in layers, onto the plane. When you get to NYC, you simply launder the first couple of layers (the ones closest to the skin), and hang the rest up.
Um, be sure to drink plenty of water when using this method, though.
My suggestion: spend the money you save on a room with a view, and binoculars.
Join the military. Airlines don’t charge me for the first bag, which is all I ever have.
Uniforms have lots of pouches to carry stuff too. Plus, you can probably get some bandoliers – just leave the ammo clips at home!
I have a feeling my fiancee would mind that… plus, I’m just not the military type…
Here’s what I would pack in my carry-on, plus what I would wear on the plane.
Wearing-
Jeans, sweater, boots, and carry coat.
Pack-
2nd pair of jeans
Maybe 1 other pair of pants
2nd sweater
2-3 shirts
1 black dress for going out
Shoes to go with dress
Sturdy shoes for walking
Underwear, hose, socks, hat, etc
ETA- all tops match bottoms and boots/shoes- if something needs a special pair of shoes or only matches one thing, it stays home (except for the shoes that you wear with the dress)…
