“Smell my finger” comes up occasionally in comedy programs. On MST3K, someone said, “Eeewww! Your finger smells like balogna!” What’s up with smelling fingers? What are they supposed to smell like? What activity is the person supposed to have performed to put the smell on his finger? ---

I always thought it was a reference to mastubating a woman, as in: “Hey I just saw your wife.” (Hold your finger to his nose). “Smell familiar?” ---

Of course, “finger” could also be a reference to the penis, not necessarily one of the digits attached to your hand. ---

no, no. people, under what circumstances is your finger likely to acquire a smell? when scratching an itchy ass, that’s when. So any invitation to smell one’s finger is thrown into immediate suspicion. Added on top of that is the absurdity of a finger smelling like bologna, or lilacs, or Uncle Juan, and **VOILA!!** instant comedy. ---

Exactly. A sure fire way to get people to laugh is to hold down a weaker person and repeatedly shove your finger in their face, all the while screaming “SMELL MY FINGER! SMELL MY FINGER!”. It doesn’t get any better than that. ---

Watch the context. One: A guy rubs his butt & puts the finger under his guy friends nose,’ smell my stinky finger’ Two: the same two guys. First guy:’ did you stinky finger her?’ That means he put his finger in the girls vagina. Sometimes the guys let each other sniff the finger after its been in the vagina to share how it smells. guys. shucks.
