# Smoking Ban in US Military - workable?

Creating smoking holes (with bombs) gives our lives meaning and enhances our manliness.

Didn’t read the whole thread, but I’m off to bed, so I wanted to offer up this anecdote before I turn in.

When I was inprocessing into the Army, we were sitting on a bunch of long benches in front of the medic’s station. If you looked to the left, you saw a sign that said “If you don’t smoke by age 18, you statistically never will, unless…” and it had a drawn-out ellipsis that stretched all the way to the wall on the right. There hung a sign that said “…you join the military.” I laughed.

I should also add that there already are programs in the Army to help quit smoking and to get some patches/gum at discounted rates (free?).

Lastly, I don’t give a damn about smoking in the military. It’s those gross, puke-inducing spit bottles that I’d ban. Seriously, how can a bottle or your own spit not make you gag? And when the break open at the bottom of trash cans that I have to change…grrrrrrrrr. In the world according to \*\*Chessic Sense \*\*…[shakes fists]!

Those were my top 2 reasons for joining.

My recruiter lied about manliness-enhancement. :mad:  
But after the stuff I ordered online arrives, the ladies better watch out for me! 😉
