Snopes is debasing itself by "fact-checking" satire websites that are obviously satire.

How can you not love Babylon Bee? It’s the boiled chicken breast of satire.

And anyone who disagrees with me is at best a rube, but more likely a knuckle-dragging mouth-breather who refuses my correction.

Dude, they’ve been doing this almost since the very beginning. At least since the mid-1990s.

The Lost Legends have been part of the site from the beginning. Each one contains a link at the end to tell you it is untrue, and is in a section that specifically calls them untrue, and contains multiple jokes in the article itself.

And they are debunking stories that are spread as true. Many of them start out as satire. I remember running into Weekly World News a lot.

Velocity, would you please stop and think for second before you repeat stuff you read on right wing websites? You do this a lot.

Couple more things on the Babylon Bee:

From The Stranger, many people don’t get that it’s satire, even when it specifically says so on the site.

An example from a man who now lost his relationship with his father over a Bee article:

A man who has made up shit on Twitter before.

It really doesn’t matter if they’ve been doing it from the beginning or not. A site that is about factual debunking should not add to the noise level with their own falsehoods. The fact that some people have cited Lost Legends as fact should convince anyone that it was a stupid idea. All the right wing idiots remember was that Snopes was wrong.
