# Snow Day or Digging Out

I’m looking out my window and all I see is snow, thick, heavy, wet snow. We had a major snowstorm yesterday in southern Saskatchewan. We got around 7 inches of snow mixed with rain. The stuff has the consistency of a slurpee that has been put in the freezer for an hour. For some reason there isn’t a lot of traffic today, only a few fools are out and about (hey I had an excuse, I had to go to work). I shoveld for about 45 minutes and I got thoroughly soaked.
It wouldn’t have been so bad except that the forecasters didn’t even see the storm forming until we had already received about three inches of the stuff. It is so messy here that even the snowplows and graders are getting stuck, so they haven’t even started to clean the streets. But since this is the prairies we just carry on, unlike Toronto where they would have called out the national guard by now. 😉 Of course, an hour away they didn’t even get a flake, so we are just lucky, I guess.
Anyways if you want to know what I’ll be doing today I’ll be looking out the window and counting snowflakes. One, two, three…

**Odieman** : I spoke to one of our people this morning who overnighted in Moosomin. She says she’s never driven in such bad conditions.
She also tells me that west of Sintaluta, it’s completely clear. Is that true? That’s a pretty narrow band.

Sorry about the snow. We’ll get our share here in Wisconsin soon enough. Shoveling the first couple times isn’t bad but it gets old in a hurry.

**Odieman** : My co-worker in Moosomin finally made it to Broadview - 5 hours to travel 75 kms on the TransCanada Highway!
I still can’t figure out why she didn’t just stay in Moosomin for another night. Over to the Squire for a beer, get Crusty’s to deliver some pizza after that… It’s ideal.

It is true Pipeliner, the snow basically started at Francis north of Weyburn, Regina didn’t get anything.
