Do you have enough space up your ass for that much?” New topic: _$@&##_&@ tow truck drivers - so, this am at 5:05, we’re heading out (son has swim practice), get out of the driveway fine, since we’re heading out. half way down the street “oops, I forgot my swim suit”. So, we head back in. key word, head. It’s dark as, well, night, no lights (we’re out in the country), so backing up, I hit the snowbank on the right. I start rocking it back and forth, son can’t get out to help push. SO comes out, helps push, but decides that I should pull forward. Now, that seems logical, except that I know there’s a 1 foot hole on the left side of the drive over there and don’t want to get stuck there. On his direction, I pull forward , kathump. in the hole. We spend about 15 minutes (with both him and the kid pushing) trying to get out of that, and each time I rock back into the hole, it’s kathump on the undercarriage. So I call a halt to the proceedings, go inside to call the auto club. some long time later, they tell me \*\*\*\*\* tow truck will be out in 90 minutes to 2 hours (???) but give me their number to call. After one hour, I start calling the place. “the nextel customer you have dialed is not …” WTF??? call the auto club. They tell me I have to wait the 2 hours quoted before they’ll deal with it. So, I wait another hour. Call auto club back. They try again to call the \*\*\*\* tow truck co, get the same response I did (whoda thunk?). So I get to call some one else and get reimbursed. Call the second guy who is out in 15 minutes tugs my car out and we’re on our way. 3 hours late. We’ve got so much snow in our town, the city officials are dumping it in the river (there’s no where else to put it). and another 2 - 4 are due tonight. ---

There is more like two feet on the ground, with another 8 to 10 inches accumulated on my car. It takes a LONG time to scrape all that stuff off. And the back roads were pretty bad. Since this thread was prompted/started in _praise_ of snow and all it entails, and I wouldn’t want to step on anyone’s willingly-frozen toes…I’ve started a new thread for the [SDMB Snow Haters Club](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?threadid=51945). Darn grumpy snow-haters! Buncha wimps, the lot of you! Snow rules!!! ::holds up a lighter and waves it around:: The Friday snow seems to be pushed back to Saturday according to [weather.com](http://weather.com)… but we did have a light dusting last night. I really want to get a sled and take Nicky sledding. He’s never been. We all tromp outside every time it snows, though, for a good snowball fight.
