Yeah I know, I think naming them is stupid too but seems pointless to avoid using it out of spite. Here in SE Michigan I guess we aren’t going to skate by again this time. Got about 3 inches on the sidewalks,with the bulk of the heavy stuff still to come. Forecasts pretty much have my house on the 6’’-12’’ and 12’’-18’’ dividing line, and that seems about right from what I can see. I may actually get to use my blower finally. 🙂 I have so far avoided any compulsion to get a pallet load of milk and eggs. The biggest pain in the ass is the timing. The bar I wanted to go to(which has a damn good SB buffet) is about 10 miles away. With the game ending in the middle of the worst part of the snow, and many drunk idiots hitting the road then I am leaning 80% toward wussing and staying home. Although I bet the bar and restaurant owners are going to be pissed at the turn outs when all is said. And then the miserable drive to work tomorrow. ---

It’s a good name, I sure wanna stay home and huddle with my favorite blanket. Alas, I’ll be going to work later, but after the game starts so there shouldn’t be much traffic in my way. ---

I unscientifically measured about 8" earlier today (western burbs of Chicago). Since then I’d say we’ve got another inch or two and it’s not letting up. It’s enough to knock out my satellite dish. My wife and I weren’t going to watch the game anyway. Still, I’m about to head to the garage and start duct taping some poles together in an attempt to knock the snow off the dish. ---

The last big storm was a total cop-out here, so hopefully this will actually meet expectations. Yeah, yeah, I know snow is annoying - but there’s something sad about being promised 2 feet and not even getting 6 inches. Come on, Mother Nature! ---

I took an exploratory drive to get some gas. They are way behind the usual schedule of cleaning the streets. which is weird since they usually love to put in the Sunday overtime, and they haven’t gotten to do much of that this season. looking 95% stay home. ---

Here in Maine, another 12-18 inches on top of the 2 1/2’ on the ground and the 3-4’ and up in the drifts and plowed streets. Probably still have school tomorrow, and the kids will be wearing shorts. No, really. ---

I love snow I love standing in the woods where it is so quiet I can hear it fall I love it if I have all I need & want in my house I love it if all the utilities stay on If those conditions are not met or I **have** to go out or I **have** to go out & work… Then, snow sucks rocks :mad: ---

If it makes you feel any better it’s 65 F and sunny here in coastal North Carolina. We might get a frost on Tuesday, looks like the weather service predicted an overnight low of 27 degrees. ---

That’s a dusting, a flurry, nothing more, I’ve seen worse, lived through worse, and no, I’m not referring to that previous minor snowfall that the weather channels hyped up either… We New Englanders are made of sterner stuff, this “storm” is a dusting at most. Yes, the expanse of the storm is impressive for sure, but nothing we can’t handle, Bring It On, Mother Nature! We’re ready for your worst… ---

I expect that before long we’ll have commercial sponsorship of weather events, not just the Weather Channel making up its own names to boost coverage. It might seem counter-intuitive for a company to pay for naming Winter Storm Preparation H, Typhoon Charmin’ or Hurricane Pepsi, but hey, all publicity is good. ---

Akron OH here, thirty miles South of Cleveland. We’ve got 3-4 so far at this point. I predict we’ll get only 6-8 by morning. Glad it’s Sunday. ---

Hmm. 43 degrees and sunny here, pruned a couple trees and moved firewood from woodpile to porch. Need to split kindling. There is standing water in the wheel ruts from the Kubota M60 I use to move hay. Over kill but its the only thing with a bucket or forks. Left NE 22 years ago, and can visit if I want to see snow.
