Oh, this reminds me of a good jump in the quarry story I heard on a technical scuba divers forum years back. Somewhere up in the northeast was quarry that was a good dive. But it was off limits to diving. So this guy hooks up with another guy thats says they can sneak in and dive at night. So they sneak in using no lights. They plan to turn them on after they get underwater. They are at the edge and the guy insists they just jump in as he’s done it before many times in the past. The second guy is hesitant and finally insists turning on the light for just a moment to see how far it is down the water. Turns out its more like 100 feet give or take to the ROCKS below :eek: Turns out the quarry had been pumped out recently. ---

Why would anyone SCUBA dive in a quarry anyway ? The whole point of SCUBA diving is to poke at fish and maybe find a lost Spanish treasure galleon. Or at least just sight-see a bit, I GUESS. But what’s there to see at the bottom of a quarry full of murky ooze ?
