today there was the usual snow coverage. wall to wall snow coverage. but wait! there is a new clip of odd snow activity. a man visiting from south korea is jogging/walking wearing sneakers, shorts, gloves, snug neckware (just the collar of a turtle/polo neck) and hat. this impressed the men on the newscast, the women just shook their heads and laughed. back to family and dog in the park building snowmen and throwing snowballs. ---

The reporters all dressed up like they are in Ice Station Zebra. Low angle snow plow shot. The old classic radio reports for school closings : “The Humpty Dumpty Nursery School Closed…” Bend with your knees,not your back. ---

There is endless use of the term “hunker down.” Overexcited reporters with panicky voices are always standing by in Tysons Corner. There’s always an affluent family whining about having to “hunker down” by candlelight until their power comes back on. ---

I always seem to see a news report with a little doggie with little doggie boots… Yeah, what’s WITH the shovels?
