After assimilating Earth culture, would she be VII of IX?

That was kind of my take and lead to an, “Aha!” moment for me when “The Chase” aired.

For my son’s eighth birthday party, I did a Star Trek theme. It was pretty cool, actually (the “wormholes” in the photo are Bugles). His dad and I wore our scuba diving wetsuits with tin-foil badges that looked like ST communicators, offering [a passable imitation of some kind of Star Fleet uniform.](https://imgur.com/a/J4KTTA1)

Our son was thrilled, and gushed, “MOM!!! You look EXACTLY like Seven of Nine!”

If only.

So, banking as usual, eh?

This was good for three full minutes of belly laffs, and I thank you, **Robot\_Arm**.

Yep, _ **60% of our DNA** _ is identical to bananas and fruit flies. All life on the planet clearly evolved from the same single-celled organisms that first formed out of young Earth’s primordial soup.

Adds extra oomph to that line in Larry Niven’s short piece _Man of Steel, Woman of Kleenex_ where he says that it would be “easier for Superman to mate with an ear of corn” than with an Earth woman
