We don’t have to leave the union. We’re strong enough to carry the whole damn rest of the country on our shoulders, if we have to. Our economy is massive, and our liberties are among the most robust in the nation. Leave the country? Brace for a massive influx of people – wretched masses yearning to breathe free. I’m fine with Texas leaving too. I know people joked about but it’s not because I don’t like them and want them to leave. I just think sooner or later the US probably should start breaking up. It’s a big place with a lot of people and eventually there will just be too many differences. Why should wealthier states support poorer states with crappy government and backward ideas? ---

We’d make a fortune leasing the Naval bases to King Trump, and that’d offset any Federal funding losses. They don’t want to pay our price, then they can park their ships in Arizona. ---

A benchmark I’ve heard is debt over 100% of GDP is a bad sign. I just googled and it looks like California debt is about 18% of GDP, which seems well within limits. Not that I am in favor of all these bonds that Californians like to pass. It’s not a tax increase! It’s free money! Not true, we’ll be paying it back plus interest for 30 years, and where does that money come from? OUR TAXES. But I digress… ---
