So we went to Walmart and got a bag of store brand meatballs instead. ---
**Author:** ![Beckdawrek](https://sea3.discourse-cdn.com/straightdope/user_avatar/boards.straightdope.com/beckdawrek/32/3647_2.png) [@Beckdawrek](https://boards.straightdope.com/u/Beckdawrek)\ **Post date:** [January 3, 2020, 11:48pm UTC](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/so-but/663656/282 "2020-01-03T23:48:12Z")
But…the meatballs were frozen. ---
**Author:** ![panache45](https://sea3.discourse-cdn.com/straightdope/user_avatar/boards.straightdope.com/panache45/32/64_2.png) [@panache45](https://boards.straightdope.com/u/panache45)\ **Post date:** [January 4, 2020, 1:45am UTC](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/so-but/663656/283 "2020-01-04T01:45:38Z")
So we took them home and nuked them. ---
**Author:** ![Beckdawrek](https://sea3.discourse-cdn.com/straightdope/user_avatar/boards.straightdope.com/beckdawrek/32/3647_2.png) [@Beckdawrek](https://boards.straightdope.com/u/Beckdawrek)\ **Post date:** [January 4, 2020, 5:40am UTC](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/so-but/663656/284 "2020-01-04T05:40:27Z")
But…Then the microwave blew up. ---
**Author:** ![panache45](https://sea3.discourse-cdn.com/straightdope/user_avatar/boards.straightdope.com/panache45/32/64_2.png) [@panache45](https://boards.straightdope.com/u/panache45)\ **Post date:** [January 4, 2020, 6:35am UTC](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/so-but/663656/285 "2020-01-04T06:35:28Z")
So we took the meatballs and sautéed them in a little olive oil. ---
**Author:** ![Annie-Xmas](https://avatars.discourse-cdn.com/v4/letter/a/ecc23a/32.png) [@Annie-Xmas](https://boards.straightdope.com/u/Annie-Xmas)\ **Post date:** [January 4, 2020, 3:08pm UTC](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/so-but/663656/286 "2020-01-04T15:08:54Z")
But the olive oil had gone rancid ---
**Author:** ![atimnie](https://sea3.discourse-cdn.com/straightdope/user_avatar/boards.straightdope.com/atimnie/32/11_2.png) [@atimnie](https://boards.straightdope.com/u/atimnie)\ **Post date:** [January 4, 2020, 3:34pm UTC](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/so-but/663656/287 "2020-01-04T15:34:34Z")
So the meatballs tasted more like dog food, which is what we were craving anyway. ---
**Author:** ![Beckdawrek](https://sea3.discourse-cdn.com/straightdope/user_avatar/boards.straightdope.com/beckdawrek/32/3647_2.png) [@Beckdawrek](https://boards.straightdope.com/u/Beckdawrek)\ **Post date:** [January 4, 2020, 5:22pm UTC](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/so-but/663656/288 "2020-01-04T17:22:03Z")
But…there wasn’t nearly enough! ---
**Author:** ![panache45](https://sea3.discourse-cdn.com/straightdope/user_avatar/boards.straightdope.com/panache45/32/64_2.png) [@panache45](https://boards.straightdope.com/u/panache45)\ **Post date:** [January 4, 2020, 8:28pm UTC](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/so-but/663656/289 "2020-01-04T20:28:32Z")
So we opened a bag of kibble. ---
**Author:** ![Beckdawrek](https://sea3.discourse-cdn.com/straightdope/user_avatar/boards.straightdope.com/beckdawrek/32/3647_2.png) [@Beckdawrek](https://boards.straightdope.com/u/Beckdawrek)\ **Post date:** [January 4, 2020, 8:43pm UTC](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/so-but/663656/290 "2020-01-04T20:43:06Z")
But…there were snails in the bag. ---
**Author:** ![panache45](https://sea3.discourse-cdn.com/straightdope/user_avatar/boards.straightdope.com/panache45/32/64_2.png) [@panache45](https://boards.straightdope.com/u/panache45)\ **Post date:** [January 4, 2020, 8:58pm UTC](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/so-but/663656/291 "2020-01-04T20:58:53Z")
So we sautéed the escargot in a little butter and garlic. ---
**Author:** ![atimnie](https://sea3.discourse-cdn.com/straightdope/user_avatar/boards.straightdope.com/atimnie/32/11_2.png) [@atimnie](https://boards.straightdope.com/u/atimnie)\ **Post date:** [January 4, 2020, 10:54pm UTC](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/so-but/663656/292 "2020-01-04T22:54:27Z")
But the dog pissed on the snails before we could eat them. ---
**Author:** ![panache45](https://sea3.discourse-cdn.com/straightdope/user_avatar/boards.straightdope.com/panache45/32/64_2.png) [@panache45](https://boards.straightdope.com/u/panache45)\ **Post date:** [January 4, 2020, 11:02pm UTC](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/so-but/663656/293 "2020-01-04T23:02:57Z")
So we all went hungry for a while. ---
**Author:** ![Beckdawrek](https://sea3.discourse-cdn.com/straightdope/user_avatar/boards.straightdope.com/beckdawrek/32/3647_2.png) [@Beckdawrek](https://boards.straightdope.com/u/Beckdawrek)\ **Post date:** [January 4, 2020, 11:09pm UTC](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/so-but/663656/294 "2020-01-04T23:09:11Z")
But…we decided to go to MickyDs for dinner, before everyone passed out from hunger. ---
**Author:** ![Bumbershoot](https://sea3.discourse-cdn.com/straightdope/user_avatar/boards.straightdope.com/bumbershoot/32/3428_2.png) [@Bumbershoot](https://boards.straightdope.com/u/Bumbershoot)\ **Post date:** [January 4, 2020, 11:12pm UTC](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/so-but/663656/295 "2020-01-04T23:12:42Z")
So we all ordered Big Macs, except the dog, who had a Big MacOl’Roy. ---
**Author:** ![panache45](https://sea3.discourse-cdn.com/straightdope/user_avatar/boards.straightdope.com/panache45/32/64_2.png) [@panache45](https://boards.straightdope.com/u/panache45)\ **Post date:** [January 4, 2020, 11:16pm UTC](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/so-but/663656/296 "2020-01-04T23:16:21Z")
But what we all (including the dog) really wanted was corndogs. ---
**Author:** ![Beckdawrek](https://sea3.discourse-cdn.com/straightdope/user_avatar/boards.straightdope.com/beckdawrek/32/3647_2.png) [@Beckdawrek](https://boards.straightdope.com/u/Beckdawrek)\ **Post date:** [January 4, 2020, 11:33pm UTC](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/so-but/663656/297 "2020-01-04T23:33:33Z")
So…We went by Sonic on the way back home. ---
**Author:** ![atimnie](https://sea3.discourse-cdn.com/straightdope/user_avatar/boards.straightdope.com/atimnie/32/11_2.png) [@atimnie](https://boards.straightdope.com/u/atimnie)\ **Post date:** [January 4, 2020, 11:54pm UTC](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/so-but/663656/298 "2020-01-04T23:54:44Z")
But we made the dog wait outside so he couldn’t piss on the corndogs. ---
**Author:** ![panache45](https://sea3.discourse-cdn.com/straightdope/user_avatar/boards.straightdope.com/panache45/32/64_2.png) [@panache45](https://boards.straightdope.com/u/panache45)\ **Post date:** [January 5, 2020, 5:33am UTC](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/so-but/663656/299 "2020-01-05T05:33:44Z")
So he was angry, and bit one of the other customers. ---
**Author:** ![Beckdawrek](https://sea3.discourse-cdn.com/straightdope/user_avatar/boards.straightdope.com/beckdawrek/32/3647_2.png) [@Beckdawrek](https://boards.straightdope.com/u/Beckdawrek)\ **Post date:** [January 5, 2020, 6:04am UTC](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/so-but/663656/300 "2020-01-05T06:04:30Z")
But…He never had his rabies shots. [Previous page](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/so-but/663656.md?page=14) [Next page](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/so-but/663656.md?page=16)
