So we called up Rod Serling and asked him for a new plot. ---
**Author:** ![Elendil\_s\_Heir](https://avatars.discourse-cdn.com/v4/letter/e/7cd45c/32.png) [@Elendil\_s\_Heir](https://boards.straightdope.com/u/Elendil_s_Heir)\ **Post date:** [January 11, 2020, 9:55pm UTC](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/so-but/663656/342 "2020-01-11T21:55:02Z")
But it turned out he’d been dead since 1975, so we found he had very little to say. ---
**Author:** ![panache45](https://sea3.discourse-cdn.com/straightdope/user_avatar/boards.straightdope.com/panache45/32/64_2.png) [@panache45](https://boards.straightdope.com/u/panache45)\ **Post date:** [January 11, 2020, 10:25pm UTC](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/so-but/663656/343 "2020-01-11T22:25:01Z")
So we entered the Twilight Zone, where he was still alive. ---
**Author:** ![Beckdawrek](https://sea3.discourse-cdn.com/straightdope/user_avatar/boards.straightdope.com/beckdawrek/32/3647_2.png) [@Beckdawrek](https://boards.straightdope.com/u/Beckdawrek)\ **Post date:** [January 12, 2020, 1:43am UTC](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/so-but/663656/344 "2020-01-12T01:43:48Z")
But…Man this place stunk. ---
**Author:** ![atimnie](https://sea3.discourse-cdn.com/straightdope/user_avatar/boards.straightdope.com/atimnie/32/11_2.png) [@atimnie](https://boards.straightdope.com/u/atimnie)\ **Post date:** [January 12, 2020, 3:13am UTC](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/so-but/663656/345 "2020-01-12T03:13:52Z")
So we went to the dollar store and got some air freshener. ---
**Author:** ![Elendil\_s\_Heir](https://avatars.discourse-cdn.com/v4/letter/e/7cd45c/32.png) [@Elendil\_s\_Heir](https://boards.straightdope.com/u/Elendil_s_Heir)\ **Post date:** [January 12, 2020, 4:19am UTC](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/so-but/663656/346 "2020-01-12T04:19:40Z")
But it cost a lot more than a dollar, so we decided to sue their sorry asses! ---
**Author:** ![Beckdawrek](https://sea3.discourse-cdn.com/straightdope/user_avatar/boards.straightdope.com/beckdawrek/32/3647_2.png) [@Beckdawrek](https://boards.straightdope.com/u/Beckdawrek)\ **Post date:** [January 12, 2020, 4:42am UTC](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/so-but/663656/347 "2020-01-12T04:42:53Z")
So…We hired an attorney from the yellow pages. ---
**Author:** ![Elendil\_s\_Heir](https://avatars.discourse-cdn.com/v4/letter/e/7cd45c/32.png) [@Elendil\_s\_Heir](https://boards.straightdope.com/u/Elendil_s_Heir)\ **Post date:** [January 12, 2020, 4:56am UTC](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/so-but/663656/348 "2020-01-12T04:56:23Z")
But he was so one-dimensional, we knew could do better than that. ---
**Author:** ![Beckdawrek](https://sea3.discourse-cdn.com/straightdope/user_avatar/boards.straightdope.com/beckdawrek/32/3647_2.png) [@Beckdawrek](https://boards.straightdope.com/u/Beckdawrek)\ **Post date:** [January 12, 2020, 8:42am UTC](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/so-but/663656/349 "2020-01-12T08:42:28Z")
So…we consulted Lawyers-r-us online. ---
**Author:** ![Elendil\_s\_Heir](https://avatars.discourse-cdn.com/v4/letter/e/7cd45c/32.png) [@Elendil\_s\_Heir](https://boards.straightdope.com/u/Elendil_s_Heir)\ **Post date:** [January 13, 2020, 1:10am UTC](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/so-but/663656/350 "2020-01-13T01:10:36Z")
But we didn’t want an e-lawyer, we wanted a real, flesh-and-blood, three-dimensional one! ---
**Author:** ![panache45](https://sea3.discourse-cdn.com/straightdope/user_avatar/boards.straightdope.com/panache45/32/64_2.png) [@panache45](https://boards.straightdope.com/u/panache45)\ **Post date:** [January 13, 2020, 5:27am UTC](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/so-but/663656/351 "2020-01-13T05:27:20Z")
So we visited the county jail, where so many of them are locked up. ---
**Author:** ![atimnie](https://sea3.discourse-cdn.com/straightdope/user_avatar/boards.straightdope.com/atimnie/32/11_2.png) [@atimnie](https://boards.straightdope.com/u/atimnie)\ **Post date:** [January 13, 2020, 6:54am UTC](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/so-but/663656/352 "2020-01-13T06:54:20Z")
But the best lawyer there was already taken by a biker and his buddy. ---
**Author:** ![Beckdawrek](https://sea3.discourse-cdn.com/straightdope/user_avatar/boards.straightdope.com/beckdawrek/32/3647_2.png) [@Beckdawrek](https://boards.straightdope.com/u/Beckdawrek)\ **Post date:** [January 13, 2020, 7:33am UTC](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/so-but/663656/353 "2020-01-13T07:33:07Z")
So…We asked the other inmates who was the best lawyer. ---
**Author:** ![panache45](https://sea3.discourse-cdn.com/straightdope/user_avatar/boards.straightdope.com/panache45/32/64_2.png) [@panache45](https://boards.straightdope.com/u/panache45)\ **Post date:** [January 13, 2020, 7:57am UTC](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/so-but/663656/354 "2020-01-13T07:57:10Z")
But they misinterpreted the question, judging “best” sexually. ---
**Author:** ![Beckdawrek](https://sea3.discourse-cdn.com/straightdope/user_avatar/boards.straightdope.com/beckdawrek/32/3647_2.png) [@Beckdawrek](https://boards.straightdope.com/u/Beckdawrek)\ **Post date:** [January 13, 2020, 9:02am UTC](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/so-but/663656/355 "2020-01-13T09:02:12Z")
So… We were treated to Bubba and Big John discussing lil’ Louis’ and fat Earl’s attributes. ---
**Author:** ![Cardigan](https://sea3.discourse-cdn.com/straightdope/user_avatar/boards.straightdope.com/cardigan/32/187_2.png) [@Cardigan](https://boards.straightdope.com/u/Cardigan)\ **Post date:** [January 13, 2020, 1:34pm UTC](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/so-but/663656/356 "2020-01-13T13:34:12Z")
But we soon discovered to our great dismay that the time dedicated to discussion proved to be mercilessly short. ---
**Author:** ![atimnie](https://sea3.discourse-cdn.com/straightdope/user_avatar/boards.straightdope.com/atimnie/32/11_2.png) [@atimnie](https://boards.straightdope.com/u/atimnie)\ **Post date:** [January 13, 2020, 6:45pm UTC](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/so-but/663656/357 "2020-01-13T18:45:15Z")
So we left the jail, minus one lawyer. ---
**Author:** ![Elendil\_s\_Heir](https://avatars.discourse-cdn.com/v4/letter/e/7cd45c/32.png) [@Elendil\_s\_Heir](https://boards.straightdope.com/u/Elendil_s_Heir)\ **Post date:** [January 13, 2020, 7:25pm UTC](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/so-but/663656/358 "2020-01-13T19:25:40Z")
But by this time we were starving, so we decided to go get something to eat. ---
**Author:** ![panache45](https://sea3.discourse-cdn.com/straightdope/user_avatar/boards.straightdope.com/panache45/32/64_2.png) [@panache45](https://boards.straightdope.com/u/panache45)\ **Post date:** [January 13, 2020, 9:30pm UTC](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/so-but/663656/359 "2020-01-13T21:30:59Z")
So we rushed to Sonic for some of their famous corndogs. ---
**Author:** ![Beckdawrek](https://sea3.discourse-cdn.com/straightdope/user_avatar/boards.straightdope.com/beckdawrek/32/3647_2.png) [@Beckdawrek](https://boards.straightdope.com/u/Beckdawrek)\ **Post date:** [January 13, 2020, 10:41pm UTC](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/so-but/663656/360 "2020-01-13T22:41:24Z")
But…we must cut down on our salt intake so we only got to eat one. [Previous page](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/so-but/663656.md?page=17) [Next page](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/so-but/663656.md?page=19)
