But there was a cleric on hand who promptly cast a ‘raise dead’ spell. ---

But…he ran fast down the hill any way. ---

So now I have to follow a post that contains both a “But” and a “So.” ---

But why not improvise as there is a lot of cleverness on this here thread to go around. ---
**Author:** ![panache45](https://sea3.discourse-cdn.com/straightdope/user_avatar/boards.straightdope.com/panache45/32/64_2.png) [@panache45](https://boards.straightdope.com/u/panache45)\ **Post date:** [March 4, 2020, 12:41pm UTC](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/so-but/663656/448 "2020-03-04T12:41:25Z")
So we can now continue with the story in our '48 Studebaker station wagon. ---
**Author:** ![Beckdawrek](https://sea3.discourse-cdn.com/straightdope/user_avatar/boards.straightdope.com/beckdawrek/32/3647_2.png) [@Beckdawrek](https://boards.straightdope.com/u/Beckdawrek)\ **Post date:** [March 13, 2020, 1:15am UTC](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/so-but/663656/449 "2020-03-13T01:15:01Z")

So… we used rope ---
**Author:** ![Beckdawrek](https://sea3.discourse-cdn.com/straightdope/user_avatar/boards.straightdope.com/beckdawrek/32/3647_2.png) [@Beckdawrek](https://boards.straightdope.com/u/Beckdawrek)\ **Post date:** [March 20, 2020, 3:33am UTC](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/so-but/663656/451 "2020-03-20T03:33:59Z")
But…the rope was weak. ---

So…they looked for duct tape. ---

But what they found was just masking tape. ---

So…they decided to just walk. ---

But while they were walking someone stole the car. ---

So…they called a Uber. ---

But when the Uber showed up, it was their very own car that had been stolen. ---

So…they called the sheriff. ---

But when they did, the Uber driver’s phone rang, and they realized that he was actually the sheriff in their stolen car. ---
