Based on the other [thread](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?postid=1643853#post1643853), there is going to be a low-key gathering chez magdalene on Saturday, October 13th at 8:00 p.m. If you plan on attending, here is what you need to do: **Email me at [peepinatrix@earthlink.net](mailto:peepinatrix@earthlink.net)** and let me know how many people (just you? spouse? friend? ummfriend? kinder?) you plan to bring and what you would like to bring with you. That way I can set up an email list with directions, etc. to my house. It’s very easy to get to my place off of 90/94. City-dwellers can take the Blue Line or any number of buses. There is on-street parking, and a pay parking garage down the way. I will periodically post names and what they are bringing here so people can look at it and say “hey, they need more \_\_\_\_!” Based on the other thread, so far it looks like: MAGDALENE, will make both veggie lasagna and meat lasagna. LIFEONWRY, Italian meatballs (which will go quite well with that). JARBABYJ, lemon bars BOLI, paper plates, cups, napkins, silverware, etc. MILOSSARIAN, \_\_\_\_\_\_\_ THINKSNOW, \_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_ DROPZONE & DROPSPOUSE, \_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_ DINSDALE & DINSPOUSE (I hope so!), \_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_ MISS CREANT, \_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_ JANE D’OH, \_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_ PORCUPINE, \_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_ DYNOSAUR,\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_ JEANNIE & HUBBY, \_\_\_\_\_\_\_ (+ board games?) TIGGERIL, \_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_ JOEY HEMLOCK, \_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_ NYMYSYS, \_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_ VILE ORB, \_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_ and possibly SUPERDUDE, \_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_ Am I correct in thinking that MIKEG is out of the country that weekend? We need: Appetizers, chips, junk food Salad(s) Wine & beer Sodapop Juice or tonic water or whatever y’all mix hard liquor with (I have the liquor, pretty much) Desserts Non-pasta/Italian dishes Silly movies, CDs, entertainment Also, my house lacks a coffee-maker or coffee. If coffee is important to you, maybe someone can bring a portable coffee-maker? ---

So I guess just heading up there with a big “Eat me” sign isn’t going to cut it, eh? Okay, uh…I’ll bring the pop, tonic/seltzer and juices, unless some under-age Doper was counting on doing that, then I’ll bring chips. ---

I’m thinking about coming on the train, although this obviously precludes any sort of hot food contribution. We’ll see. Don’t add me to the list yet. I’d also need one night of crashing space. Before anyone offers, I think we should determine whether or not Mags is putting Italian Sausage in the lasagne. Trust me, it’s important if you plan on spending 8 hours with me. ---

My meat lasagna sauce does include both ground beef and hot italian sausage (along with green peppers and onions). The veggie one is all about slices of portobella mushrooms and fresh tomatoes between the layers, spinach mixed in with the ricotta, and a garlicky but-but-not overpowering red sauce. ---

I’ve got no money, no food and am trying to not smoke. However, it is not a ChiDope unless someone crashes at my place. Couch for one, air mattress for two, both available Saturday night. If I decide I’m too broke to go I’ll at least point you towards the El stop. ---

I’m going to have to move to the “maybe” list. I may have bitten off more than I can chew, travel-wise. October is shaping up to be crazy. I’ll do my best, folks, but no promises. And **nym**? I hear ya on the veggie thing. I’m still surprised I didn’t gain any weight last weekend (especially after the Great Cheese Adventure that mags and I had on Saturday). ---
