Well, that’s too bad, I actually recognize some of the usernames fairly well. Anyway, let’s just hope that this is the extent of the damage and that when decision time comes, people go towards re-upping. Keep adding your name if you’re not sure, I was just curious. ---

I’ll probably renew. I will miss a lot of the people who don’t, though. I think the complaints are valid, but not the end of the world. I feel people are overreacting to the mods/admins actions. ---

I’m staying. While I’m wary of the people running this place, that’s been true almost since the beginning. There’s a lot of people here that I like, that aren’t on LJ. And there are few online debate fora with a decent representation of both conservatives and liberals. ---

I’m undecided. On the one hand, there are at least a couple of people here that really, really make me want to stay. They’ve been kind and supportive, and made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. On the other hand, there are more than a couple of posters here that I find mean, petty and spiteful. This meanness is very seldom directed at me, but it still makes me sad to see, and being sad isn’t much fun. I really don’t know what to do. ☹ ---

I’ve kind of got a lot on my mind right now, so I think I’m more sensitive than usual - it just seems like I’ve seen a lot of posts lately that were much nastier than they needed to be, and a lot of people refusing to give others the benefit of the doubt. Undecided. I was undecided last year, to tell you the truth, because I found real life intervening and I didn’t think that I would be posting very much. That turned out to be quite true. I’ve had months this year where I didn’t even lurk. I mostly paid last year so that I would still have search privileges. Until quite recently, I was planning to renew…a few bucks, and it’s here when I need it, even if I’m not here enough to “justify” it. Then I come back and find this whole **Tubadiva** fiasco. I’ve never really concerned myself with the mods or board politics…I post so infrequently and uncontroversially I’m sure the mods really have no idea who I even am. However, I cannot believe that **Tubadiva** was reinstated as a full administrator after what she did. She’s had other instances of acting emotionally rather than rationally when it comes to this board. Any other poster would have been banned after what she did this time. …and she gets just a 30-day suspension and reinstated not as a regular member, but as an admin, free to strike again at her whim. I guess my feelings about the SDMB are not as warm and fuzzy as they used to be. In the past I might have just drifted away for a while and then seen how things shook out, but now I’m faced with the “renew now or else”…well, it’s a tough decision for me. I’m very tempted to say “forget it” and move on. Oh, and what is this money being used for, again? The boards are still damn slow. ---

I feel so clueless. Can someone tell me if I understand things right? There was some kind of singles thread. In TubaDiva’s opinion, it got too flirty, or competed with the Tribune’s personals, so she (?) shut it down. People took umbrage and started some Pit threads on it. If I read this thread right, TubaDiva was removed for acting capriciously. She was then reinstated with full admin rights. Do I have it right? p.s. I’m staying. At the worst, the fee amounts to a few six packs and has fewer side effects. ---

Eh, I don’t know yet. I don’t care about how the mods handled things and I’m not really bored with the place, it’s just I have nothing to contribute to the board. Awhile back, **Cervaise** wrote this long, insightful post to **Ilsa\_Lund** , which boiled down to asking yourself when you post if you are going to do something good for the board. From then on I realized I have no life experiences to share, a wide base of knowledge that many other faster posters have, and only opinions that can help fill up MPSIMS and IMHO. Put simply, I am in no way positively contributing to this board. Oh, and I have no credit card. (Thanks again, **Cardinal** , wherever you are.) ---

There is a tremendous amount of activity on this board and most of it has very little to do with improving it or doing something good for it. It’s just about human interaction. A sharing of opinions and experiences. A place to have fun and perhaps to learn about something. Everyone has something to contribute. And everyone has something to gain from it. I think you’ve taken **Cervaise’s** post too much to heart. ---
