I feel bad for these kids. Now Joe Jackson already wants to get them into show business. Very poor Shtetl Jews from Belarus on my maternal grandmother’s side - her grandfather was the village blacksmith - and middle class Polish Jews on my maternal grandfather’s side. My paternal grandfather was the son of a Greek Jew - that part of the family came over from Thessaloniki in the early 1900s, and were part of one of the very oldest Jewish communities in Europe. His mother was also a Greek Jew who had come over here as an indentured servant to her uncle. My paternal grandmother’s family were German Jews. Her maiden name was Silverstein. So let’s be clear, I don’t just have Jewish relatives: I am one hundred percent Jewish. ETA: Marley, you’re in New York. If you don’t believe me, go over to the Blue Bay Diner in Queens and sit around until an old man comes in and starts loudly bitching that his sandwich was made wrong and sends it back to the kitchen three times. That’d be my grandpa; you can ask him whether I’m Jewish or not. ---

Supposedly Klein said (and I don’t know if it was on Larry or in another interview) that the reason he gives his ambiguous “to the best of my knowledge” answer is because he has donated to a sperm bank on a few occasions and he has no way of knowing where the sperm went. Classy classy. Anywho, on some gossip blogs they did some side by sides of MJ and his kids at similar ages. I see a resemblence for sure. And I suppose I know enough “mixed” people who look white as day that it wouldn’t surprise me if they were his kids. To me, it looks like the kids actually all have the same old nose as MJ- just smaller; which, to me, makes sense, since they have a white mom with smaller features. While not as wide, if you look at the shape on the. . bottom, I guess it would be, the shape is exactly the same (by the nostrils). Blanket, Prince, and Michael all have the same eyes and eyebrows to me. Same jawline, too. If MJ isn’t their biological father, I’d be surprised if the dermatologist were the person he chose to father his children. Course, none of that means anything at all either way - my daughter looks a lot like my partner, and they’re not related at all, it’s just coincidence and observer bias. ---

I too know mixed kids who look “white as day” or whatever, but I’m telling you, if I had a bunch of money to bet, those kids, with the possible exception of Blanket, do not look mixed. At all. The two oldest look white as white can be. Michael was not that light to begin with – medium skintone – and his hair was pretty kinky. If they were his kids, they should have got something of his African heritage – hair, skin, or features. As far as I can tell, they have none of it. I’d bet my bottom dollar that Paris and Prince are not his biological kids. That said, it doesn’t matter at all and we probably shouldn’t be talking about it. And it doesn’t matter, legally. There is the concept of the “presumed father.” in California law and I believe the law of most states. There is more than one way to be a presumed father. Two of them are: "presumed father’ is a man to whom the mother is married, or, if no longer married, was married within 300 days of the child’s birth. Another “presumed father” is one who receives the child into his home and openly holds out the child as his natural child. It’s open and shut as far as the legal system considering them to be his kids.
