Well I was just wondering? Its called **Nymphomania** in women and \*\*Satyriasis \*\* in men. Its the excessive or abnormal sexual craving in a man or excessive sexual desire in a woman. On the Straight Dope front page one can see the sexual overtones quite clearly if you look at the last few posts by **THE GREAT ONE** they **ALL** have sexual conotations to them. The latest being: \*\*\*What’s the deal with S&M, bondage and discipline, etc.? (By Cecil Adams) \*\*\* then, \*\*\*Do female pigs have six-minute orgasms? (By Cecil Adams) \*\*\* and, \*\*\*Do women have wet dreams? (By Cecil Adams) \* \*\* just to name a few. I wonder is our God of Gods is a sex fiend? Jeez, does Cecil himself like to ‘get it on’ whilst typing his column? He seems to have a devious, unscrupulous, little fetish about writing on SEX!!! … Rock on Cecil!!! or ‘get it on’ I should say!! ---

seems that archived columns which are thematically linked are presented on the home page right around the same time. less that Cecil’s constantly writing about sex, then sex is the thematic link lately. if i recall correctly, there was a brief spurt of dog- and cat-related columns a while back (and no, they were about dogs and cats doing it, or doing dogs and cats, you sickos). jb ---

Classic columns appearing on the front page are currently presented in the order of appearance in a Straight Dope book, and in the Straight Dope books the articles are grouped by “category”. ---

**Arnold** , quick snippet before I retire for the evening… I know full well _The Great One_ ‘categorizes’ _his_ books. As a matter of fact, any good, well stocked book store will have **Mr. Adams** near the front of their humor section. It is not that which I ask. I simply asked if anyone has realized that in that last several weeks, OUR dear lord has had a certain nude conotation to his posts… That’s it and thats all… seems some people are in fact in agreement. No biggy…who doesn’t like sex? ---

The eight most recent “Classic Columns” selections (old columns) all come from Chapter 4 (“S-E-X”) of the original book, _The Straight Dope_. Of the nine most recent _current_ columns (the new ones), not one is primarily about sex. ---

Well \*\* Neurodoc \*\* I looked up priapism and came up a little short, but a **Priapus** is the Greeek/Roman god of gardens and of male generative power. And **priapic** is relating to or preoccupied with virility. I am not sure of the feminine side to either of these. And \*\* bibliophage \*\* I understand that of the nine most recent current columns (the new ones),not one is _PRIMARILY_ about sex. They may not be primarily about sex but hey, we’re being a little persnickity here, when the great one talks about **S & M, Orgasms, and Wet Dreams…** do we not think about sex??? We are not splitting hairs here…🙂 ---

**priapism** - a prolonged and usually painful erection, which erection can permanently eff one’s erectile tissues for good. can be brought on by allergic reactions, poisonings, insect stings and bites, etc. don’t see why the female apparati could also not be damaged in this way. the effect would not be as pronounced, though. jb
