Now that we’re past the deadline, has anyone noticed any changes? Is there more activity? Less? Are we getting any new guests? Anyone paying up at the $15 rate yet? ---

I was about to start a thread to ask if: since the cutoff date, has the Reader noticed any improvement on their side? Or are 3500-odd of us still enough to bring them to their knees? May as well tuck that question here. ---

There have been some, actually. I wondered the same myself, and I found that we’ve added a dozen or so subscribers since Monday afternoon (hard to be sure because of paid mods & SDSAB). Presumably, they’ve all paid $14.95. ---

It’s hard to figure why there are $14.95 subscribers yet. I’d have figured that if anyone already on board was going to buy in they would have done so over the past 7 weeks. There was even a week’s grace. And then the newcomers wouldn’t want to pay until their free trials had been going a while longer. I suppose you might say they want search capability, but would newcomers care about that? They can ask whatever they want and get an answer, plus have hundreds of recent topics to pore over. And there aren’t even any dirty pictures to justify $14.95 ---
