My husband introduced me to these boards and after a substantial time lurking, I was prompted to sign up and post something [here](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=58398&perpage=50&pagenumber=2#post1145362). I wanted to come up with a username he might recognize as his wife. In conversation or pseudo arguments, he’ll often say _MOHY_? (rather than the conventional _mwah_), to which the proper response is _VOOOOS_! So, I don’t know. It’s all about speaking French poorly, I suppose, while having a fascinatingly unique French name IRL. Overall point to this post: Yes, you’ve been pronouncing it wrong. ---

Mine was a typo the first time I logged onto mIRC. I was going to use “badman” but I added an extra “a” and thus, my nick was known to all the world as badmana and has been for more than a dozen years. Of course now I can state that I ment to do that since “mana” actually means something and it’s something I came across in my years of Final Fantasy and other RPG gaming. ---

When I co-led a Girl Scout troop with Peggy Hill (of King of the Hill fame – and if this wasn’t Peggy, she was channeling her), she wanted the kids to call us Mrs. Hill and ma’am. And she kept telling the girls to behave like “little ladies.” Grrrrrr… So I suggested we have them use our “camp names,” and since her was Peppermint, mine became Butterscotch. Had to abbreviate it a bit here since some uncouth person had stolen my original spelling. And voila. ---

Oh, boy. Get comfortable. First I was **drayton** because I have Michael Drayton’s “Sonnet 61” (Since theres no help, come let us kiss and part:") on the side of my CPU along with other poems I like. Then I decided that I shouldn’t take the name of someone I didn’t know much about. So I became **SLEEP!** , a running gag from Mystery Science Theather 3000 (if I had it to do again, I would have picked either Losertes, their mocking of Lartes from Hamlet, or something from “The Final Sacrifice.” **Zap Rasdower** beat me to it.). All was well, then the system went down (something about Cecil choosing the wrong door or something). All was reset about 5 months and I became **drayton** again. Again feeling odd about having a name I didn’t know much about I changed it again to **Wolfan** from a line from an episode of “Aqua Teen Hunger Force:” Bigger Mooninite: Our god is an Indian that turns into a wolf. Smaller Mooninite: He’s a Wolfan. I was later informed by a doper in a thread that I had misheard the line. The second part was “That’s Wolfian,” a reference to an eighties movie about an Indian that turns into a wolf. I felt pretty stupid and became a lurker, not for that, but becuase my computer was acting weird and I needed to concentrate on my schoolwork. I came out of the woodwork about a month ago and tried to login using **Wolfan**. Long story short (too late) my name had been changed. So thank you whichever of you mods did that. So to recap: **drayton** to **SLEEP!** to **drayton** to **Wolfan** to **Wolfian**. ---

Graffiti. There was some graffiti on an overpass that was on my way home every day of this guy holding a sign that said “My Darn Snake Legs.” It made me laugh every dang time that I saw it! Then the city took it down. ☹ First time that I have been sad to see the law enforced… ---

Named for my little brothers '67 Mustang shortly after he passed away, 3 months shy of his 35th birthday. The 'Stang has a jacked up rear-end (reversed the leaf springs and put air shocks on it) and my brother would say he was “gonna go get on my High Horse” whenever he was going somewhere. However, now that I’ve got my parents hooked on 'Dope (wow, that’s a Just Say No commercial if ever there was one), they’ve been lurking for a little while and Dad tells me my handle is upsetting to my mother - soon, I’ve gotta ask a Mod to change my user name.
