# So, how do you go about asking for a job once you use connections to get a sit down?

That’s the thing about having older parents. Those people are all dead. (Or dead and weirdly discredited and in twenty years I will tell ALL.)

Thank you so much, Really Not All That Bright. I think he was really excited to get something he could help me with (along with, uh, helping out with that whole “you need all new ductwork” thing…) - it made him feel really needed. He always said “that’s just how ---- is…” About how hard it is to get in touch. But even before he died I was so worried that he maybe felt hurt about this whole thing. Because to be honest this business wouldn’t be here without my dad. He put in everything that mattered, frankly at the expense of our family. And — can’t be bothered to call me back once he figured out what my number was? But when he went, latest info was that it was in the bag. So I’m glad.

Shit. I miss the hell out of him.
